Live action now moves to the stunning city of dreams in the gambling hub of the east – Macau that is playing host to the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) 2018 at the PokerStars LIVE Macau poker room. The series got underway yesterday and will conclude on March 25.

The marquee event at the series is the HK$40,000 Main Event which takes place from March 19-25 where along with the prize money, the winner will also get his hands on the coveted Platinum Pass.

Other featured events at the series include:

  • APPT HK$3,000 Kickoff (March 14-15)

  • APPT HK$80,000 National High Roller (March 15-17)

  • APPT HK$10,000 National (March 15-19)

  • APPT HK$400,000 Super High Roller (March 17-19)

  • APPT HK$100,000 High Roller (March 23-25)

  • APPT HK$100,000 High Roller Single Re-Entry (March 24-25)

The series offers players a lot of fun activities off the felts as well with a PokerStars player’s party, StarsFun activities offering free players’ merchandise and a wide range of tourist activities planned during the course of the series.

As expected, several Team India members are in transit to attend the series and leading them all once again will be country’s pioneering poker pro Aditya ‘intervention’ Agarwal accompanied by his better-half and fellow poker pro Shuchi Chamaria. Agarwal is undoubtedly one of the most experienced and accomplished poker pros from India and will be a man on a mission, given the fact that a big score in Macau has somehow eluded him so far.

Adda52 pro Kunal Patni, Raghav Bansal, Sumit Sapra, Mayank Agarwal, Arjjun Singh, and Sahil Chutani are some of the other players confirmed to be attending the series, with many more Indians expected to join the action in the next few days.

PokerGuru spoke with Patni before he took off for Macau and he said, “It’s great that APPT is back. The APPT buy ins are on the higher side compared to MPC but the structures are awesome. The Macau fields are usually soft and I am keen to go back again to Macau which has been a favorite hunting ground for me. I am playing three events only APPT National, Main Event and the PokerStars Asia Open. After that I am travelling straight to Manila to take part in the APT Manila.”

Sapra on the other hand is reaching Macau on March 16 and shared his plans for the series, “I am playing the Main event, the HK$10,000 National, the HK$6,000 Asia Open and maybe one or 2 other side events depending on how I do in these.”

Kolkata-based Mayank Agarwal is already on his way with Arjjun Singh and told us, “I am playing the HK$10,000 event and the Main Event if I satellite in.”

Young Gun Sahil Chutani is also reaching Macau today and shared his two cents with PokerGuru, “It`s going to be a big series and the plan is to play my A-game day in and day out.”
