Kanishka Samant Takes Down THOS Chip Chop Hustle 12K Tupac Super Bounty Event

After a rocking start with the “Eminem” inaugural event, yesterday saw the second event of the THOS Chip Hop Hustle unfold with the “Tupac” 12K Super Bounty.

IPC April Edition Champion, Young Gun Kanishka Samant (cover image) was the winner, adding a THOS title to his long list of poker achievements. Samant defeated Hari Kumar in the heads up match that lasted a mere 10 minutes, though the entire event went on for over 7 hours, with 46 players battling for the top place.

Tournament Recap

The event began right on cue at 5pm with several regulars in attendance. One of the first eliminations was Amit Chopra and among those who lost their tournament lives early was inaugural “Eminem” winner Prasanna Jayappa, who was busted by Sheetal Kumar.

Two hours into the event, Kanishka Samant began to assert himself taking two eliminations sending Deepak Chawla and Neelesh G to the rails. By 9pm, Samant was already gaining ground with 46,200 chips, almost half of the 81,500 stack held by chip leader Niranjan NJ.

Another 30 minutes later, Samant improved his lot by taking out two more players, this time Naitik Jain and Harsha R, the latter was the final table bubble boy. Harsha jammed with while Kanishka held . The board opened [cj] and Harsha exited, setting up the nine-handed final table.

Madan Kumar was the first one to be ousted from the final table, in 9^th place when his failed to catch up against Bharath Kashyap’s .

Hardit Singh was then busted by Hari Kumar at 8^th place. Bharath Kashyap became the money-bubble boy, eliminated by Niranjan’s .

Vinay B was next, eliminated at 6^th place by Rishi Ahuja. However, Rishi hit the rails immediately after that at 5^th place, busted by Niranjan.

Samant was now leading the remaining four players with a very comfortable lead.

Samant began an aggressive play of eliminations, first taking out Chirag Patel at 4^th place and then busting Niranjan NJ at 3^rd.

The final hand came a few minutes later, when the flop came down . Hari Kumar held and after seeing the turn open the , he went all in with his two-pairs. Samant made the easy call with for a flopped straight. The river changed nothing and Samant was declared the champion of the 12K Tupac Super Bounty Event.

On winning the event, Samant stated, “It feels great, I mean first event I have ever won in Bangalore.”
