PokerGuru 3-Bet: Hoadley Wins XL Eclipse Opening Event, Loeliger Crushes WCOOP High Roller & Moorman Takes Down Powerfest $109K NLHE PKO

The World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) and partypoker POWERFEST have already captured the interest of railbirds all around but world, and with the start of the 2018 888poker XL Eclipse, the virtual action just got a lot more intense.

United Kingdom’s Richard ‘ChipsFool’ Hoadley kick-started his XL Eclipse Series campaign in style by taking down the $100K Opening Event for $18,788.

Action has been fast paced at the 2018 WCOOP and more than $60 Million have been won by online players at the series so far. One of the biggest winners was Linus ‘LLinusLLove’ Loeliger, who took down the $25K High Roller for $587,747.

Meanwhile, Chris ‘Therealmoorm’ Moorman redeemed himself on the POWERFEST felts by taking down the $109K NLHE PKO for an impressive $22,193 payday.

Richard ‘ChipsFool’ Hoadley Ships $100K Opening Event at the 2018 XL Eclipse Series

The latest edition of the 2018 XL Eclipse Series kicked on September 13 on the second largest online poker room, 888poker. While the series started with three tournaments, the very first of the lot was the XL Eclipse #1 – $100,000 Opening Event which found a champion in Richard ‘ChipsFool’ Hoadley who banked $18,788 for his victory.

With a buy-in of $109, the event pulled in 1,002 runners, 707 unique entries and 295 rebuys, creating a prize pool of $100,200. With the top 90 places receiving payouts, “HellChicKKen” from Belarus became the last player to finish empty-handed.

The nine-handed final table quickly came down to the heads-up battle. After more than thirteen hours of play, “Palmenwedler” moved all in, on the final hand, with pocket fives against the pocket tens of Hoadley. The board did not run in the former’s favour and he ended his run with the runner-up title as Hoadley took away the top prize of $18,788.

The two other events that ran alongside the $100,000 Opening Event were the $20,000 Mini Opening which was taken down by the Romanian player “seserman02” for $4,428, and the $25,000 Late Opening which was shipped by Malta’s “KelevraJesus” for $4,951.

Linus Loeliger Wins WCOOP 2018 $25K High Roller For $587, 747

The ongoing 2018 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) has been the hot hunting ground for the online poker fraternity and another big buy-in tournament of the series, the $25K Eight Max NLHE High Roller culminated on Thursday, with Linus ‘LLinusLLove’ Loeliger claiming victory for a hefty payout of $587,747.

Loeliger beat a 104 strong player field in the tournament, including a final table that included several online biggies.

A prize pool of $2,550,600 was generated in the event that allowed one re-entry and the top 13 places made the money.

The Medium version of the event attracted 662 runners, and Ognjen ‘psjebemvas’ Sekularac took the event down, banking $228,348.36 for the win. ‘AS Leshly‘ and ‘ReadngSouls‘ chopped the Low version for $131,349.41 and $112,902.97 respectively.

Meanwhile, Joao ‘Naza114’ Vieira, Mike ‘SirWatts’ Watson and Arseniy ‘josef_shvejk’ Karmatskiy also picked up titles at the online poker festival that is fast approaching its final weekend.

While Vieira topped the $2,100 Triple Draw Deuce To Seven event to win $49,595, Watson claimed victory over the Medium buy-in event for $15,325 and ‘pokerqmaster’ won the Low for $4,915.

Karmatskiy continued to display solid form and defeated 149 other players to win the $2,100 Six Max NLHE Shootout High, denying a second WCOOP title to Watson who finished runner up in this event for $46,050. Ben ‘jenbizzle’ Jones claimed the top prize of $31,425 in the Medium buy-in event, while Robert ‘Little Kraut’ Deppe emerged victorious in the Low version, banking $12,014.

Chris ‘Therealmoorm’ Moorman Wins $109K NLHE PKO at the 2018 partypoker POWERFEST

Day 12 of the 2018 partypoker POWERFEST has concluded and along with has crowned 11 more winners, including Chris ‘Therealmoorm’ Moorman who had earlier missed out on winning the title in Event #64 High Roller: $1,050 No Limit Hold’em, but more than made up for it by taking down Event #76 High: $109 No Limit Hold’em PKO for $22,193.

Outlasting a playing field of 2,079 entries that generated a prize pool of $216,216, PocketFives all-time money-list leader Moorman went up against PocketFives #1-ranked player Caio ‘CPessagno’ Pessagno in the heads-up play. Following heads-up deal being struck between the two finalists, Pessagno walked away with $13,595 for his part of the deal as well as $8,180 in bounties, and Moorman banked $16,000 + $6,193 in bounties to go with the title.
