It’s been high-octane action all the way at the World Series of Poker (WSOP)’s Circuit stops that after opening with the Harrah’s Cherokee stop in North Carolina, moved to Foxwoods in Connecticut and are currently underway at the Thunder Valley casino in Sacramento.

The WSOPC Thunder Valley stop kicked off with the $400 No Limit Hold ‘em event on September 16 where 1,253 entries were clocked over five starting flights. Eventually, it was local casino dealer Khoa Tran who captured the title and his maiden WSOPC win, along with $73,401 in prize money.

Meanwhile, another WSOPC stop at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek is slated to begin on September 13, with 12 tournaments as part of its roster, while the thrills continue on the virtual felts at the 2018 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) where after Shaun Deeb, Denis ‘aDrENalin710’ Strebkov won multiple titles.

Khoa Tran Wins WSOPC Thunder Valley $400 NLHE For $73,401

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit Thunder Valley stop in Sacramento opened on September 6 with the $400, No Limit Hold ‘em where outlasting a giant entry field of 1,253 runners, local casino dealer and part-time poker player Khoa Tran took down the event for $73,401.

This is Tran’s first WSOP Circuit win and biggest career score in a live tournament. He now has five WSOP cashes on his poker scorecard and his combined WSOP tournament winnings have reached $90,000.

“It’s the best feeling ever,”said Tran, adding“I was grinding all day, playing good poker. It came through. I’ll try to play more tournaments and keep the bankroll going,” he added.

Meanwhile, featuring a total of 13 events, the WSOP Circuit Thunder Valley stop will continue till September 17. Two tournaments, the $1,700 Main Event that will start over two starting flights on September 14, and the $2,200 NLHE High Roller slated for September 16 are the star attractions of the stop.

The $400 NLHE had five starting flights that ran through three days. Only 221 of the 1,253 players remained in the field after conclusion of Day 1. Jason Mayer was the overall chip leader amid these players, with a stack of 417,400. The money bubble was reached two hours into Day 2 action, with 135 players making it in the money. Each of them locked up $616 as min-cash.

Tran was chip leading when the official final table of 10 kicked off. The elimination of Anthony Duminy (10th for $5,838) left only the final nine on the official final table in the race for the title.

Denis “aDrENalin710” Strebkov & Shaun Deeb win multiple titles at the 2018 WCOOP

The 2018 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) is buzzing with action, as not only are players winning titles and huge prize money, a few have picked up more than one title!

On the heels of the German plyer ‘Nilsef’s two WCOOP titles in a single day, another player to juggernaut his way to stardom was Denis “aDrENalin710” Strebkov. The Russian pro won three titles in a week and created a record by accumulating a total of seven WCOOP titles.

Strebkov completed this feat after he won the $11 NL 5-Card Draw for $3,233, the $2,100 Razz for $49,595 and $109 PLO 6-Max for $31,824. Not only did Strebkov win three titles but he won them in three different variants of poker and that too at three different WCOOP levels (L, M and H).

World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Shaun Deeb was another trailblazer seen in action. Deeb had missed the birth of his second son two years ago as he was participating in the 2016 WCOOP where he went on to win his fourth title. Looking for a repeat performance, Deeb once again participated in the ongoing series, on his son’s birthday and defeated a field of 192 entries to win the $1,050 buy-in PLO8 8-Max event for $38,088.
