The Indian contingent at the 2018 World Series of Poker (WSOP) have wreaked havoc on the international poker stage in Las Vegas. This past weekend was of immense historical importance to the Indian poker community as Nikita Luther won her career-first WSOP gold bracelet, and India’s third, in Event #55 – $1,000 Tag Team No-Limit Hold ‘em pocketing the top prize of $175,805 (₹1.20 Crores). She also had an exhilarating run in Event #54: Big Blind Antes $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em where she finished in 17th place for $18,495 (~₹12.65 Lakhs). India`s first WSOP bracelet winner Aditya Sushant was close to winning his second gold but finished 9th for $75,319 (~₹51.55 Lakhs) in Event #61: $1,000 WSOP.com ONLINE No-Limit Hold’em Championship.

While the members of Team India were making inspiring runs in Vegas, the online poker scene in the country was also booming! The virtual felts saw a lot of action this past Sunday, as numerous poker experts and enthusiasts alike scored enormous paydays. Headlining the list of winners this Sunday was Rohit ‘kudos0202’ Behal who played impressively well to win the PokerStars India’s Sunday Special ₹25 Lakhs GTD for ₹4.75 Lakhs.

PokerStars India had massive overlays all across the big guaranteed events this past Sunday, much to the liking of the poker players who turned up to take advantage of the huge value on offer. The poker site had to contribute over Rs 15 lakhsin Sunday Special ₹25 Lakhs GTD, ₹3.92 Lakhs in Sunday Storm ₹5 Lakhs GTD, ₹65,675 in Sunday Stars ₹2 Lakhs GTD, ₹36,912 in Sunday Warm-Up ₹1 Lakhs GTD and ₹35,000 in The Hot ₹1 Lakhs GTD to meet the guaranteed prize pool. The Sunday Storm ₹5 Lakhs GTD event awarded ₹86,513 to ‘GudThimma’ for the 1st place, as ‘youcantcallme’ topped Sunday Stars ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹52,406. The Hot ₹1 Lakhs GTD found a winner in ‘FLIPflops’ for ₹44,847 and the Sunday Warm-Up ₹1 Lakhs GTD was taken down by Sharath ‘jigglypuff420’ Tp for ₹22,647.

Not far behind was the winner of the Baazi Super Sunday (BSS) ₹15 Lakhs GTD on India’s most trusted poker site PokerBaazi, Pranav ‘Pranavpoker’ Khandalkar who shipped the event for ₹3.15 Lakhs. But the action on PokerBaazi did not stop with Khandalkar. ‘Satya222’ claimed the top prize of ₹1.19 Lakhs at the BSS ₹5 Lakhs GTD and ‘Aone1’ pocketed ₹35,000 for topping the BSS ₹1 Lakhs GTD Turbo FreezeOut.

The Sunday Blast Series on MadOverPoker comprised of 6 high-value tournaments which had a total prize pool of ₹9 Lakhs. Leading from the front was ‘Oliverqueen’ who bagged Hysteria for ₹1.14 Lakhs. Rudhra ‘honeysingh’ Kumare won Dynamite for ₹22,139, followed by Nikhil ‘Nikh007’ Nunia who took down Bounty Mafia PKO for ₹20,492. ‘King raj’ shipped Madhouse for ₹19,218. Sunday Crawler was taken down by Mahipalsinh ‘zti3978’ Vala for ₹16,732 and ‘SAAATH’ placed 1st in Boom for ₹14,507.

Over to 9stacks where all seven players who made it to the final table of the ‘Winner @ FT’ event pocketed ₹15,000 for their efforts.
