Final Table Recap

Action on the nine-handed final table got off to a slow start and it took three hours before the first elimination was witnessed. The first casualty was Takao Shimizu who lost a hand against Wong and was railed in ninth place.

Following him was Pfizer Jordon whose ace-ten lost to the pocket tens of Josh Turner who improved to a ten high straight on the rundown. Jordon exited in eighth place.

Over the next few hands, both Nicholas Salimbene and Jacky Wong doubled up and Turner won a big pot against Peacock.

It was James Ostrowski who hit the rails next. Ostrowski moved all in for 2,900,000 in the cutoff and Eichhorn also announced all in for 2,125,000 from the small blind. Ostrowski held but Eichhorn had him dominated with . The flop was bringing Eichhorn a big lead with set of nines. The turn and river didn’t help Ostrowski. In the next hand, Ostrowski moved all in for his last 725,000 from the hijack and Turner made the call. Ostrowski showed , while Turner revealed . The flop opened and Turner made trip queens. The turn and the river sealed Ostrowski’s fate and he was eliminated in seventh place.

Next up, the action folded to Daniel Eichhorn who open jammed for 4,300,000. Wong, who was in the big blind snap-called and tabled . Eichhorn showed . The flop came and Eichhorn picked up a straight draw. The on turn and the on river didn’t help him survive against Wong’s pocket-queens and he went out in sixth place.

Though the three remaining contestants agreed to continue, the play was halted, and an extra day added. The final three, Peacock, Turner and Salimbene returned for a final showdown the next day.

Day 5 Recap

Peacock entered the unscheduled Day 5 as the chip leader with 38 big blinds, compared to Salimbene’s ten bigs and Turner’s eight.

Six time WSOPC ring winner Joshua Turner moved all in for 6.6 Million on the button and Peacock called in the small blind putting him at risk. Salimbene folded and Turner tabled while Peacock had . It was a flip and Turner was trailing. The board opened , sending Turner packing in third place.

Heads-up, Nicholas Salimbene moved all in from small blind on which Peacock quickly called from the big blind. Salimbene turned over the and Peacock tabled . It was evident that Salimbene would lose unless he improved his hand and though he did pick up some chop outs on the flop, the turn, and the river did little for his cause and he conceded the bracelet to Peacock, settling for a runner-up finish.
