An amazing month comes to an end. Starting with Poker Guru Tour, giving me my first live tournament series experience and a chance to meet the Poker heroes of India, it ends with those heroes killing the games at International events.
After the start of PGMP, March was the first month when i lost money online. It was a pretty brutal month, where even after shipping a $25 hyper i was at a decent downswing considering my ABI. But, it all ended with PGT. Yes, a live tournament series ends my Online downswing. Meeting the pros, chilling with them and watching them play makes the learning rise exponentially.
Run good and the better plays got me out of the downswing right away on my way back home. I finished 3rd in a Eu33 Turbo. Then managed to run better and finsh 2nd in a 5.5+R 2x-Turbo, 1st in a $2.7 KO Turbo and 1st in a $51 hyper. The online grind at Nitish’s place after PGT has made me aware of a lot of my deep stack poker leaks. Earlier i used to play mostly the positions and stack sizes mainly without adjusting too much according to the villain. But now, i keep a keen eye on the villain type while playing a hand with them. The 5 minute crash course on using HUD stats by Nitish has helped a lot in this regard as well. I even managed a lot of deep runs in the reg speed tournaments, but couldn’t manage a Final Table yet.
The highlight of the month has been the performance of Indian Poker Gurus at the International felt. With almost every tournament having at least one Indian at the Final Table, India for sure has made its mark in the Asian circuit. Congratulations to everyone who made India proud at Macau and APT Cebu. And good luck guys for the APPT Cebu, Kill it!
