Poker: My Road

Well, I am a Noob when it comes to Poker primarily because my Bankroll says so, and your bankroll is a better measure of your poker skills than your belief.

We used to play a lot of poker in the final term of our college, Ceramic Engineering @ now IIT BHU. I introduced everyone to the game 2 semesters back, and by the last 2 weeks almost 20 people were actively playing poker.

We used to play only Sit N’ Go’s, strictly no Cash Games, Low Buy-ins in the range of 100 to 200, so that everyone could play. We had daily games sometimes even 2 in a day, going on for usually 2.5-3.5 hours. We used Poker Clock App from PokerStars for managing our Blind Levels, it does make it a lot professional:)

During that time I registered on PokerStars and spend a considerably amount of time playing online, but we were such cheap asses that we started with 30 USD, and limited ourselves to 1.5$ 9-man S’N’G and 0.1 X 360 Turbo Games.

By we, I mean, me and my close friends we used to play from that same account. Later we went our ways when college ended, scheduled Home Game Tourneys, called everyone up and played our standard S N G.

I then Joined IIM C for MBA straight from College, and started playing cash games here, A lot wide range of cards, a lot more gambling then you would do in tourneys. I am considerably +ve here in cash games, so I guess I am learning this version of game, but what I really like to play these days is Sunday Storm, $11 within budget, and that $30K prize surely makes it exciting, I have finished now 2 times out of 5 in the money once on 377 for 112 USD and again on 164 for 165 USD. Hope to learn from others and improve the game 🙂
