Bummer.

This is not going to make a good read. So people wanting to not add further misery to their Monday blues should stop reading this now.

I decided to give up the MTT stake just 10 days into it. I cannot take it. The MTT grind is just too emotionally upsetting. I thought I could be stoic about the variance but I ran bad and it was just too much. It was making me unhappy. I had registered for some 20 odd tournaments on Sunday. But after busting in around 6 of them, I just unregistered in the rest and immediately called up my backer. Worked out the termination on skype and sent the funds back to him. It may seem like a decision in haste but this is not what I want to do. I don’t want to be on this emotional roller coaster. Also I decided to give up before I lost ability to buy out. It was not much. Just 375$ in the hole which I can easily re-coup playing my bread and butter cash games. Btw, I have nothing but praise for my backer. Supported me and prepped me emotionally as well asking me to not worry about downswings or funds and just play whatever I want. He is absolute aces in my book. He has a blog here as well. Do go through it:

I am also withdrawing my application for MTT staking here with (the one which was posted in marketplace). This should not however be a deterrent to others trying to make it big in MTT’s. This is a very personal decision for me. I am not equipped to handle the swings. I thought I was. It is a doable thing (grinding MTT’s) and people who are doing it are absolute ballers. This word “baller” gets thrown around a lot but people who grind MTT’s for a living just totally, totally deserve it.

So it’s back to the cash games for me with some small MTT shots every now and then. I am taking a small break till PGT-December and will blog monthly instead of weekly from now on. But I am there to help any of my PGMP mates with whatever they need. I have learnt a lot over the past few months, especially during the past 10 days. Also if any of you are looking to sell action, this is the way to do it. An excellent Sunday package run by my buddy Prateek Bhartia:

Do check his rail thread as well.

I and many others are always looking to buy some pieces of +EV players. So do go through the example above and post your BAPs (Buy a piece) package in the market place forum. It helps reduce variance and gives buyers a fun sweat. If you need help with setting up a package, hook up with me on skype. (skype id: vinaysuchede)

Cheers!!
