So let me start by saying, I read a Daniel Negreanu blog long time back where he mentioned that he likes to have a coaching conversation with young teenagers who are inclined towards poker. He had said that obviously people can make a living out of it because a handful of them are and that’s because they are treating it like a serious job and working hard both playing and studying the game. They know what it takes to make it in this game. And I like this approach.
I really felt good after winning the WPT India Main Event as its somehow sweeter when a shipment comes from a live MTT. Now I am certainly looking forward to playing more live poker.
I do want to mention that I ran pretty well to bag a good stack and then on Day 2, won crucial pots at the perfect time. After that, it was just navigating and reaching the final table. Coming into the final table, the strategy was to play tight until there were a few bust outs and then re-assess depending on the stacks.
And obviously, I have to talk about the rail. It was amazing as almost all PokerGuru Staking members who were there in Goa were there. A special shoutout to some of them who were great in calling out the cards so yeah, that helped for sure!
Obviously we are getting incredible coaching from Adi so the concepts that a regular person would take 5-6 years to learn.
There are some excellent tools available for advanced strategies, and we use those too.
Now we have the upcoming WPT Cambodia next month where I will utilise my WPT Passport which I won after taking down the Main Event. I will also be travelling to Cambodia to play the APT.
Obviously when you travel it becomes little difficult because you don’t get enough time but I try to study for 2-3 hours at least.
This is it for now. Will be back soon and hopefully will have more pleasant news to share!
