Thailand’s Kajornnut Prirungrueng finished Flight D of the APT Hanoi Billions Main Event as the chip leader, marking a spectacular end to the final flight of this record-breaking tournament. Prirungrueng bagged an impressive 301,800 chips, the only player to cross the 300,000 mark in this flight.
Flight D attracted 334 entries (277 unique), bringing the total for all starting flights to an unprecedented 2,239 entries. This massive turnout has shattered the guaranteed prize pool of VND 25 Billions. Of the staggering 2,239 entries, 845 players survived the initial stages of play, with registration still open until the start of Day 2.
Following Prirungrueng on the leaderboard is Vietnam’s Nguyen Quan with 222,000 chips. In third place is Sanh Bao Huy Thai from Vietnam with 216,000 chips, noted for his remarkable entry straight from the airport to the poker table.
The final flight saw a strong showing from Indian players, with nine advancing to Day 2. Leading the Indian contingent was Rising Star Aman Parakh with a notable stack of 175,100. Rising Star Pratibh Saluja followed with 141,400 chips, and Suresh Kolli bagged 109,100. CEO of Poker Sports League, Pranav Bagai, also made a significant advancement with 105,500 chips.
Pratibha Arya, who re-entered Flight D after initially qualifying from Flight C, improved her position to 85,700 chips, making her the only Indian player to qualify twice. Other successful Indian players included Shailesh Kumar Patel (100,000), Kabir Tandon (72,200), Vinay B (55,900), and Karan Gupta (39,200), bringing the total Indian qualifiers to 50.
Not all familiar faces made it through, as Natural8 Ambassador Kunal Patni and Filipino pro Richard Marquez were among those who did not advance.
However, other notable qualifiers for Day 2 include APT side event winner Bao Qiang Ho (120,000), Ngo Khoa Anh (79,500), Jeffrey Lo (75,900), Vincent Chauve (58,000), and Korean poker regular Won Chulbae (42,000).
