Though a relatively lesser-known name in the domestic circuit, Tanmai Relwani has already added two live titles to his poker resume in less than two months. The 29-year-old Mumbai-based player came into the limelight after he took down the ₹20K PLO (Turbo) in the BPT 2020 January Edition that was hosted last month.
Tonight, he trounced a 128-strong entry field (96 unique and 32 re-entries) and added yet another title to his list of achievements, along with taking home an impressive winner’s payday of ₹2.08 Lakhs – ₹1.73 Lakhs in prize money and ₹35,000.
He entered the final table with the sixth most massive stack and eliminated the likes of Gaurav Gupta, Suraj BU, and Dhaval Doshi, en route to his showdown against Sandeep Sharma. He began the heads-up with a commanding chip lead, which was ultimately impossible for Sharma to overcome. The heads-up was over within a matter of two hands, with Relwani clinching his first-ever DPT title!
A complete recap of the tournament will be posted on PokerGuru shortly.
