Flatted a UTG raise with KQs was this a good idea- what else can i do here. Should i call the shove – my thought cutoff knows UTG might not be light 80% of the time and still shoves he must have had a great hand but he was short which also makes it a great steal spot for him

In EP ….. fold, it is a mistake for the obv reason that if anybody wakes up wth a hand and shoves (light or not) you are not going to be able to justify making the call or than you want to gamble he doesn’t have a hand that dominates you.

If you are INTENT on playing the KQ from EP then the only otther play is to raise yourself (indicating strength) which may allow you to see the flop: of course he may still have a hand and reshove .. personally I’d just fold (That said saby I often do the same thing myself even though I know I should not and then face the exact same problem)

Yup problem is on one hand i think i need to play these hands to win but playing them is difficult…i was wondering if i should have called…this is a great steal spot for him and his range can be very wide

I’d have done pretty much what you did and quite possibly called .. but that doesn’t make it the optimum or correct play .. CALL\FOLD is definitely OK.

The raise is way too much to honestly justify calling and getting it wrong as you could be in front or way behind.

Personally I think it is correct to fold here; that said I have called in similiar situations since KQ suited. But why take the risk .. just think it too large a chunk from your stack and those chips can be put to better use in a better spot.
