Canada’s first ever WSOP Circuit Main Event (The River Rock Main Event) is now in the history books. John Crncic, a poker amateur from Vancouver who won his seat through a $180 satellite, ended up taking home the whole thing for $286,382, a WSOP circuit gold ring, and a free seat in the $1 million National Championship. Apart from those amazing prizes, Crncic’s boss promised him to pay the buy-in to the 2013 WSOP Main event if he won. Crncic assured the WSOP that his boss was a man of his word.
“I’m afraid I’m going to wake up and it’s going to just be a dream,” Crncic told the WSOP following his win. “It’s absolutely fantastic. This is much more than I hoped for.”
