Team PokerStars pro Daniel Negreanu`s five year wait for a 5th WSOP gold bracelet is finally over. Negreanu bested an impressive field of 405 players to win the inaugural WSOP APAC Main Event gold bracelet.
Negreanu entered the final table second in chips behind Benny Spindler. Spindler however was unable to hold on to the lead eventually busting in 6th place. With Spindler out, it was smooth sailing for the Canadian pro who used his experience to outplay the five surviving players and take down the tournament along with the top prize of AUD $1,038,825.
With this win, Negreanu moves up on the elite list of multiple WSOP bracelet winners joining 9 other players which include the likes of John Juanda, Stu Ungar, Jeff Lisando, Allen Cunningham, Scotty Nguyen, Chris Ferguson among others with five WSOP bracelets.
