A few days ago, the French-Chinese high stakes player Rui “PepperoniF” Cao wrote some interesting things in his blog about the extreme high stakes games in Macau. Cao writes, for example, about private games where the pots are as much as €500,000 and that it’s normal that people win/lose more than double that amount in just a day. He also writes who takes part in these games.

“Most players are Chinese with a lot of money. But there are also some well-known poker players like Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius and Tom Dwan. Patrik Antonius has been banned from these games because he played too tight and started too many prop bets.” Cao writes in his blog.

Rui Cao is one of the biggest winners online in June with profits of around $500,000. And he’s up almost $1.3 million for the year so far. However, those winnings can disappear in no-time when you play for high stakes in Macau.

“A lot has happened since I arrived in Macau. I played my biggest negative session and played the biggest pots of my live, both online and live. There are a lot of swings and excitement! I started out with a big loss to Antonius. I decided to take a shot, and I think I clearly have an edge over him in the long term. True, I lost around $800,000, but no whining allowed,” Cao writes
