Majestic Pride Goa

Majestic Pride Goa

The Majestic Pride Goa, the erstwhile Baadshah Gaming Live, commenced operations onboard the new and improved Casino Pride 2 on August 1, 2019.

PokerBaazi previously operated a live poker room in the Garden City of Bengaluru in collaboration with Vikram “Lungi” Kumar. However, following regulatory clampdowns, the venue had suspended operations.

In June 2019, PokerBaazi and Casino Pride announced that they were collaborating to jointly run the PokerBaazi LIVE Poker Room onboard Casino Pride 2. This move saw the coming together of two of the biggest names in the domestic poker industry, PokerBaazi CEO, Navkiran Singh, and PokerGuru Staking’s Madhav “Maddy” Gupta. Soon after the collaboration between the two industry giants was announced, news came through that Vikram Kumar, Rohan Dhawan, and Nikhil Jain were also coming on board the PokerBaazi LIVE Poker Room management team as partners.

With the Majestic Pride Goa commencing operations aboard Casino Pride 2 and veterans of the industry overseeing the operations, it was only a matter of time before the Baazi Poker Tour (BPT) was revived. In July 2019, the PokerBaazi team announced that BPT would be making a comeback from October 9 – 14, 2019. The six-event series offered a player-friendly tax policy that included a deduction of TDS only on net winnings. The headline event at the stop, i.e., ₹50K Main Event, was championed by Chennai based Bharat Kumar while Rohit Jinwal shipped the other marquee event at the halt, the ₹100K High Roller.

BPT’s 3rd edition was hosted from January 2 – 14 with Gautam Sachdeva winning the ₹35K Main Event for ₹43.21 Lakhs while PokerBaazi CEO Navkiran Singh won the High Roller for ₹31.82 Lakhs.

Returning after a two-year-long break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the BPT March 2022 edition was a record-shattering one! The ₹35K Main Event set a new attendance record of 900 entries, collecting a whopping ₹2.96 Crore prize pool – the biggest prize money generated in a ₹35K buy-in Main Event in India and the second-largest overall in a live MTT in the country.

Online reg Nitin Arora topped the record field to win the BPT Main Event crown for his first recorded live MTT finish. He chopped the Main Event title heads-up with India`s first WSOP bracelet winner Aditya Sushant (runner-up for ₹45.23 Lakhs), collecting a career-best ₹42.70 Lakhs.

Others who won BPT titles include:

Gaurav Sood (Won ₹15K BPT Kick-Off for ₹11.25 Lakhs)

Ujjwal Narwal (Won ₹15K BPT Big Bounty for ₹8.85 Lakhs)

Zarvan Tumboli (Won ₹100K BPT Highroller for ₹50.03 Lakhs)

Karunanithi S (Won ₹15K BPT PLO Turbo for ₹4.29 Lakhs)

The details of the next BPT edition are yet to be announced.

On April 19, PokerBaazi announced that it was parting ways with Casino Majestic Pride and the poker room is now being run by the casino management.
