Daily Majors: Akash Gupta, Shashank Shekhar, Deepak Singh, Akshay Pathak & Rishi Gupta Championed the Tuesday Marquees

Following a rather slow Monday, the action picked up pace yesterday with Spartan Poker’s Mega Stack ₹20 Lakhs GTD headlining the list of big guaranteed tournaments. Registering 743 entries (346 unique, 179 re-entries, and 218 re-buys), the tournament blew past its advertised guarantee to collect a ₹22.29 Lakhs prize pool. Racing ahead of the rest was Akash ‘Akash0510’ Gupta. Gupta is a consistent winner and had in April, claimed the Sunday SuperStack ₹25 Lakhs GTD title for ₹7.15 Lakhs. This time Gupta clashed with another Spartan Poker regular Anmol ‘bemyfriend’ Srivats (runner-up for ₹2.72 Lakhs) heads-up and defeated the latter to return ₹2.74 Lakhs richer.

Spartan Poker’s Ultimate PLO ₹2 Lakhs GTD pulled together an 86-entry field (44 unique, 15 re-entries, and 27 re-buys), which led to an overlay of about ₹28,000. Rishi ‘BollywoodNight’ Gupta was the last player standing in the event and banked ₹60,000 for his win.

Running alongside Spartan Poker’s Mega Stack was PokerBaazi’s Tuesday flagship, The Endeavour ₹15 Lakhs GTD. The Tuesday flagship comfortably rode past its offered guarantee collecting ₹16.38 Lakhs via 468 entries (230 unique and 238 re-entries). ‘gandukepille’ locked horns with MTT specialist Chirag ‘miyagi’ Sodha (runner-up for ₹2.30 Lakhs) in the final showdown to win the ₹3.29 lakhs top prize. Sodha who has been on a winning spree had two other deep runs on Tuesday, in PokerStars India’s Sixth Sense ₹7.5 Lakhs GTD (31st for ₹5,060) and Deepstacks ₹2 Lakhs GTD (20th for ₹2,800) respectively.

The other PokerBaazi major, the Tuesday MonsterStack ₹3 Lakhs GTD, found a winner in another online crusher Deepak ‘3streakbluff’ Singh who collected ₹96,600 for his win.

Shashank ‘Goldfish03’ Shekhar championed a field of 223 runners (130 unique and 93 re-entries) in Adda52’s Hitman ₹7.5 Lakhs GTD. The Tuesday marquee on Adda52 was among the few tourneys last night that registered an overlay. The Hitman suffered a shortfall of about ₹36,400. The other Adda52 major, RPS Big Game 2 ₹2 Lakhs GTD, was taken down by ‘meat123’ for ₹60,495.

PokerStars India’s Sixth Sense saw its guarantee reduced from ₹8 Lakhs to ₹7.5 Lakhs. The reduction in guarantee helped the site escape filling in an overlay since with 309 entries (154 unique, 144 re-entries) ponying up the ₹2,750 (including fees) buy-in, the final prize pool touched ₹7.72 Lakhs. Tournament regular ‘GutshotHaiBro’ trounced the field and bagged a winner’s paycheque of ₹1.38 Lakhs. As for the other winners, ‘Wanabepro299’ took down the Deepstacks ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹42,713.

Over at 9stacks, Akshay ‘Once’ Pathak juggernaut to the top of a 170-strong entry field (125 unique and 45 re-entries) and walked away with ₹66,300.

Rounding up this report is the Battlefield Tuesday ₹1.5 Lakhs GTD on Poker Dangal that was won by ‘Kingofnoob’ for ₹33,007.

Daily Majors: Samant, Alam & Raaj Ship the Friday Flagships; Sushant Tops Day 1A of The Millionaire LITE

The weekend is almost here, and setting up the mood perfectly was a plethora of big guarantee events that played out on the virtual felts last night. Spartan Poker’s The Millionaire Lite ₹50 Lakhs GTD Day 1A commenced sharp at 6 PM, and by the time late registration concluded, the event had logged in 994 entries (524 unique, 195 re-entries and 275 re-buys). This is the largest number of entries recorded in the opening flight of a Millionaire event in recent times and can be attributed to the site lowering the tournament`s buy-in to a more affordable ₹1,650. With such a massive turnout on Day 1A, The Millionaire LITE is already poised to shatter the attendance record set by its predecessors. Given the unimaginable success that the recent Millionaire editions have enjoyed over the past month, there is a strong possibility that this flagship tournament might soon become a more frequent addition on the Spartan Poker platform.

The poster boy of Indian poker and also the nation’s first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Aditya ‘SuperuSer’ Sushant was back in the thick of the action. He had amassed the most massive stack of 2.77 Million by the time the last hand was dealt in The Millionaire LITE and will headline 89 survivors to Day 2. PokerGuru Ambassador Vivek ‘KasolHieghts’ Singh (232,777) and ‘xqwxqw1’ (1,89,585) rounded out the top three stacks.

Besides the Millionaire LITE, Spartan Poker’s The Elite ₹25 Lakhs GTD was also a big hit last night and attracted 291 entries (121 unique, 73 re-entries and 97 rebuys), collecting a prize pool of ₹29.10 Lakhs. ‘Buddy25’ defeated Anmol Agast ‘bemyfriend’ Srivats (runner-up for ₹4.42 Lakhs) heads-up to pocket ₹5.39 Lakhs. In fact, Srivats also final tabled the TGIF ₹10 Lakhs GTD, finishing third for ₹91,875. The event was ultimately won by Alnoor ‘loThbrOck’ Pujani for ₹2.03 Lakhs.

‘beginer’ (Afternoon Hi-Fi ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹60,434) and ‘ErrorDetected’ (Ultimate PLO ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹50,809) championed the other majors on Spartan Poker.

It was an action-packed day on PokerBaazi as well that saw two Friday majors playing out. One of the big winners on the site was one of our former Young Gun`s Kanishka ‘Highness’ Samant. The Mumbai-based pro was recently in the news for teaming up with Jaydeep Dawer and Manish Goenka for the upcoming The Indian Poker Series (TIPS) Season 3. He has been in the pink of form this year – his most prominent deep run being his APPT Manila High Roller victory back in August. He has subsequently final-tabled both the IPC ₹10K Kickoff and the Manila Megastack PHP 55K NLHE Shot Clock events. Yesterday he topped the 328-player (154 unique and 174 re-entries) field in the Fri-YAY ₹10 Lakhs GTD to capture the title along with a hefty ₹2.20 Lakhs payday.

Over at the Friday SuperStack ₹3 Lakhs GTD, a 148-entry (93 unique and 55 re-entries) meant that the prize pool collected just about touched the advertised guarantee (there was an overlay of ₹4,000). PokerGuru Ambassador Faiz ‘AilaGaya’ Alam, who had won PokerBaazi’s Monday MegaStack ₹3 Lakhs GTD on November 25, was in top form yesterday and clinched back-to-back titles. He collected ₹77,250 for taking down the Friday SuperStack and added another ₹2.09 Lakhs to his bankroll after winning PokerStars India’s Uppercut Progressive KO ₹10 Lakhs GTD.

‘pm2404’ came out on top in PokerStars India’s 6 Max ₹2 Lakhs GTD to take home the winner’s payday worth ₹44,540.

Tournament action seems to have picked up at Adda52 that has been consistently crushing the guarantees in its flagships, though the guarantees have been pulled down. Last night, the site’s marquee tournament – The Ballers ₹15 Lakhs GTD – shot past its offered guarantee, collecting ₹17.67 Lakhs in the prize pool through 258 entries (153 unique and 105 re-entries). ‘GODSENT’ topped the field and took home a top prize of ₹4.59 Lakhs. ‘chutny’ won the Hexagram ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹72,500.

9stack’s StackUp @8PM ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD drew 147 entries (82 unique, 41 re-entries, and 24 rebuys) for a ₹30,000 overlay. Two days after he took down the event, Harsh ‘littleboy’ Raaj once again rose to the top of the field to take home ₹65,000 in prize money.

Over at Poker Dangal, ‘Jokermaniac’ rose to the top of the 97-entry field (69 unique and 28 re-buys) and walked away with ₹24,000 in prize money.

Daily Majors: Purohit, Arora, Grover, Dhall & Raaj Headline the Wednesday Action

We hit the mid-week mark last night, and despite some big guarantee events on offer, many majors suffered massive overlays. Dominating the action on the virtual felts was Spartan Poker’s signature Wednesday tourney – Destiny 12.0 ₹30 Lakhs GTD. The site has been aggressive with the guarantees of its majors, and Destiny came back last night with its guarantee hiked up by ₹5 Lakhs over last week. However, the site was unable to recoup the same from the buy-ins. The turnout was, in fact, lower this time, with only 524 entries (245 unique, 121 re-entries, and 158 rebuys) compared to last week’s 590. There was a considerable overlay amounting to ₹3.80 Lakhs, but for players, that was good news as they benefited from the value on the platter. Once the hectic tournament play was done and dusted, standing tall with the title in his kitty was well-known pro Anant ‘Pro’ Purohit.

Purohit has a remarkable scorecard of online and live finishes and hogged the limelight back in June when he took down the DPTXpress Goa ₹15K Main Event for what was his career-first live title and ₹7.40 Lakhs in prize money. Continuing his blistering run, Purohit shipped two events at Spartan Poker’s IOPC next month – the Head Hunter ₹12 Lakhs GTD for ₹3.69 Lakhs and the Super High Roller ₹75 Lakhs GTD for ₹29.12 Lakhs, both on July 25. Among his more prominent recent scores was the Destiny Changer ₹25 Lakhs GTD title that he won on Poker Dangal on November 24 for ₹10 Lakhs. He has been actively picking scores at domestic live stops, including the IPC, BPT, and even WPT India. Yesterday night Purohit edged past Vikranth ‘borntrouble’ Varma to win the Destiny title for ₹7.8 Lakhs. Along with the top honors, Purohit also gained a free entry into the Destiny SnG Finale that is scheduled to take place in Goa on January 12, 2020, where the top three finishers stand to win Las Vegas packages.

The other event on the site, Ultimate PLO ₹2 Lakhs GTD, was won by ‘space ace’ for ₹62,381.

Among the other podium finishers on Wednesday was another talented force, Sanket ‘blackcod’ Arora. Arora’s tally of online scores is more impressive than his live record, but all of that changed in September when he stormed into the record-breaking IPC ₹35K Main Event final table, where he eventually finished fourth for ₹16.31 Lakhs. Earlier this month, Arora also posted a runner-up finish at the PokerBaazi’s The Summit ₹15 Lakhs GTD. Yesterday, Arora dominated a field of 298 entries in the G.O.A. ₹20 Lakhs GTD and overpowered Anuj ‘brockLesnar95’ Yadav heads-up to capture the top prize of ₹3.80 Lakhs. Both Arora and Yadav have won an all-expenses-paid trip to Goa, where they will be clashing with other G.O.A. winners at the SnG slated for December 7. The G.O.A got walloped with a glaring overlay of almost ₹5.10 Lakhs.

Over at 6-Max Wednesday SuperStack ₹3 Lakhs GTD, it was PokerGuru Ambassador Parikshit ‘Zapdos1234’ Dhall who championed the 186-strong (98 unique, 88 re-entries) field to bank ₹92,516 in prize money.

Adda52 was another site that had to cover up for the shortfall in its Wednesday majors. The day’s headliner was the Maverick ₹10 Lakhs GTD that, with 421 entries (238 unique and 183 re-entries), fell short by ₹42,000 of meeting the advertised guarantee. ‘udaymoola’ was the eventual winner, and padded his bankroll by ₹1.78 Lakhs. The Hexagram ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD crowned a champion in ‘Krifard’ who returned richer by ₹71,250.

PokerStars India’s Night on Stars ₹5 Lakhs GTD was one of the few marquee events last night that managed to dodge the overlay storm – primarily because of the substantially lower guarantee on offer. The event raked up a prize pool worth ₹5.32 Lakhs through 266 entries (146 unique and 120 re-entries). Young Gun Arsh ‘BiggggTymeR’ Grover, who had shipped PokerBaazi’s BSS MegaStack ₹5 Lakhs GTD on November 24 and the Thursday MonsterStack ₹5 Lakhs GTD on October 17, trounced the competition to win ₹1.01 Lakhs.

‘SuitNConnect’ shipped the Progressive KO – 4 Max ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹44,137, following a heads-up chop with ‘Flipper108’ (runner-up for ₹30,731).

The 9stacks’ StackUp @8PM ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD attracted 153 entries (92 unique, 37 re-entries, and 24 rebuys) yesterday. The tournament had a shortfall of 13 entries that resulted in an overlay of about ₹20,500. Harsh ‘littleboy’ Raaj came out on top to win the ₹65,000 first-place cash prize.

Poker Dangal’s Wow Wednesday ₹75K GTD crowned a champion in Himanshu ‘hdwivedi3’ Dwivedi, who won ₹16,500.
