The Origin Story

GetMega was launched in 2018 by two IIT Kanpur alums, entrepreneurs Mayank Ram and Lokesh Jangid. The duo previously worked at Cure.Fit, where Ram was Head of Growth in 2017, and Jangid was positioned as an engineer in 2017-18. Before GetMega, the duo co-founded Opinio in 2017, a logistics startup acquired by Cure.Fit.

With a dream to build India’s largest skill-based gaming platform, the duo developed the site from the ground up and has been tireless crusaders working on expanding its customer reach by the day.

The company raised over $9 Million from Accel India, Nexus Ventures Partner, and other angel investors in early-stage funding rounds and formally launched on March 14, 2021. While it already had 5 Million registered users by then, the formal launch was made by over 200 YouTube influencers, including comedian Tanmay Bhatt in a week-long campaign. The company plans to target 50 Million users by the end of the year.

GetMega is also a member of the All India Gaming Federation (AIGF) and is committed to following the gaming body’s self-regulatory mandate for responsible gaming.
