PGT Main EVENT 30K Buy in 200/400 Blinds

      MP2: 16,000+
      BTN: ~30,000
      Hero (BB): 16,000+

Pre Flop: (t600) Hero is BB with 47o
4 folds, MP2 calls t400, 1 fold, BTN calls t400, SB Folds, Hero Checks

      Flop: (t1400) 5 6 Q Rainbow (3 players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets 450, BTN Calls 450, Hero Raises to 1300, MP2 Calls, BTN Folds

      Turn: (t4500) J (2 players)
Hero bets 1300, MP2 Raises to 3100, Hero calls 1800

Any thoughts on the play?? Too early to play fancy in this kind of tournaments? After he raises to 3100 i knew he was strong so just called thinking if i hit the straight i could have easily stacked him. And 1800 to call to win 32000 i thought odds were great. I would have jsut checked the river and shoved on his bet.

nah.. I am folding turn to his raise.. he may check back river or not call your shove.. thus implied odds of calling turn are not guaranteed..

nicely played till flop, not opposing to bet on turn, but i would like to check-call on turn and evaluate on river.
As played u should call his raise or re-raise completely oppendent dependent, without reads its hard for me to call on his raise on turn.

1800 for a pot of 10700, its a call on turn even with negligible implied odds

      Edit: pot of 8900

I would rather lead out flop than c/r though. As played, call turn.

Come-on Arjun, check the pot size and stacks behind. Why would you fold turn?
