On my one of poker trips to Goa, i decided to check out this new poker room in Casino pride and was really not impressed way things are. They were kind of to waive off the 2000 entry to casino for poker players but that was it.

Once we sat down on table, the manager/owner Mandy would really not care about players… He was busy looking at hole cards of his ‘friend’ that was in the hand. It got worst when This guy start commenting on how the ‘friend’ is playng with those cards…. COME ON.

Anyway, i just decided to cash out and walk away… Walk down 10 mins to Casino royale and as always felt like i was back in own house… Had a great game, Craig is always helpful and was happy thereafter.

Anybody have similar experience with Casino pride?

Mohit, its always great to hear from players and appreciate that. However i am myself surprised you didn’t have a Great experience, as thats what we strive for. Can you please let me know approx when you were here and have throughly checked the player records for Feb and March and don’t see your name. Please contact me directly on 915885086 and do give us another chance.

Mohit, I travel to Goa every month for tourneys and end up playing in almost all the casinos in goa.. Mainly, Royale, Pride and Carnival… Personally I think Pride has an excellent poker room and is managed very professionally. Royale is fantastic too , but I am sure craig wouldn’t give you personal attention unless you walk up to him and he is a world class card room manager. I think what Maddy ( Its not Mandy) did is just fair and he will definitely give you his personal attention if u walk up to him or may be just shout out. I personally think Pride had one of the most friendly staff across casinos in Goa.. And the next time you are there try the fresh juice and fish finger… Its killer…. Cheers and good luck….

I also agree with you, from the little interaction I have had with Maddy, I can say it never made me feel he would neglect his patrons.
And we can see here from his response also that immediately he gave his number and said he can be contacted directly next time.
I may be patronising Royale but I am totally a neutral person as becoz as a player I can have choices and preferences but as an organiser I have to be neutral and here I speak as an organiser first and then as an individual.

      Hi,

i had played at casino pride almost 1.5 yrs back..when it was known as pride poker room..and criag use to be card room manager their….. experience was not bad…but will not say it was very good also….

played in IPRT tourney at that time….later on played at cash table also…
Craig was very helpful to players at that time….at one point in tourney a player on my table wanted to know about count on chips in pot…. Craig explain very politely why in NLH tourney chip count of pot is not given… and why given only in POT Limit tourneys….

regarding bad experience…. awful dealers.. it is mandatory for a dealer to show a winning hand (best five cards) of player….i had to point out at-least 3 times to dealer to show winning hand…..Later on I pointed out that to craig and jim(organizer of IPRT).. i dont know why dealer has to ask about winning hand from players? it is his/her duty to point winning hand rite?…

anyways that was all 1.5 yrs back…i am very sure lot has changed now.. will surely come to pride casino during my next visit to Goa… and post my feedback here…

      Best Regards
      Mukul

Maddy, i am not trying to make an issue out of this and this is just my personal opinion on how i felt. I visited the card room on saturday night 19th feb this year. I guess this probably have changed, i have been to goa couple of times after that but didn’t just visit the room (coz of my prior experience). I will give it a shot on my next trip to Goa (Perhaps in May).

Good luck and keep promoting poker in India, we need more than whats going on.

      Hey Guys,

I would like to give my perspective of Sol Poker Room, in the point of view as a Player, cause as a Organizer this will be our 1st Event in May, and till we don’t try we cant comment on it.

I remember the Poker Room management has changed hands couple of times, like for eg. way back it was Phil who ran it, then came Jim, and now it is Maddy.

There is no point in pointing out what it was like during Phil and Jim time, as it has been Maddy now, and Maddy for some time now.

Since, Maddy has come into the picture with Sol Poker Room, I have seen it only grow and grow big. The place is Jam Packed with action, that is unseen in any card room in Goa. The service has been very attentive, and the dealers are fine.

Now, as for Mohit Madaan’s complain, I am unsure of what is that about, but, I guess, the best way to sort it is to give it another go. You must come during the Aces Unlimited tournament series which starts from 18th-22nd June. http://www.acesunlimited.net

As for Richester’s point of view, I totally agree with him, that back then the dealers used to be a pain in the ass, but, now things have changed, but, I will still agree they are not perfect. They will goof up now n then again and again, but, I have seen that happening in Macau as well, and that is where the Card Room Manager’s role comes in.

There is no doubt about the capabilities of Craig, he is an Ace Manager, as for Maddy he is very good, his decisions are to the point and final, so no complains ….

The above is just a point of view, and it may differ person to person, but, hope some of you guys will benefit with the little info provided above.

      Cheers and go all in

Hello everyone. I am planning to visit Casino Pride on Wednesday night i.e. 18th Jan to play in the pride poker room. I am a regular on SpartanPoker and play under the username TheDoc. However, this will be my first foray in live poker.

I would like to know the buy in for the cash games/tourneys and cashout rules etc.

I am sorry if I sound completely ignorant about this, but I am a newbie as far as live poker is concerned. Any help from the regular visitors to Pride poker rooms/any pride representatives here would be greatly appreciated.

      Thank you all. Cheers.
