Event 13 – HK $500,000 Super High Roller

Rising American poker star, Andy Andrejevic won the richest event of the series for HK $8,725,000. It was an incredible profit considering that Andrejevic made it to the top on an investment of just HK $40,000, through a live satellite at the PokerStars LIVE Macau poker room.

I was planning on leaving three days ago, but we walked past the satellite and jumped in!” an excited Andrejevic stated.

It just felt like it was my day,” he added. “It feels surreal. It probably won’t sink in until tomorrow!”

The final table began with just six players out of the original 34 entries and Andrejevic was leading the field on the final day. Notables Erik Seidel and Anton Astapau were the first to be eliminated at sixth and fifth place respectively. Defending champion Steve O’Dwyer was looking at winning a second Spadie, but his hopes were dashed by Andrejevic. O’Dwyer exited at fourth place, when his two pair were bettered by Andrejevic’s flopped broadway straight.

Three-handed play saw Andrejevic up against Bryn Kenney and John Juanda. It was a short while before Andrejevic sent Kenney to the rails in third place, and began heads up play with a 4 to 1 chip advantage against Juanda.

It took just four hands for the match to be over. Juanda with pocket fours, moved all in and Andrejevic with ace-deuce, called. The flop gave an ace that was more than enough to declare Andrejevic the champion and Juanda made second place for HK $5,574,000.
