2015 ACOP: Dong Guo Wins Warm-up; Thrilling Action Expected At Main Event With Ronaldo, Aditya Agarwal & Other Top Pros Joining The Action

It’s set to be a highly exciting day at the ongoing 2015 ACOP at PokerStars LIVE Macau, with Day 1A of the HK $100,000 Main Event slated to begin today. From the west, we have iconic footballer Ronaldo joining the Main Event, in his role as Team PokerStars Brand Ambassador.

Indian railbirds will have much to cheer for with Team PokerStars Pro Aditya Agarwal, India’s pioneering poker pro also making his 2015 ACOP debut at the Main Event. PokerStars Extreme Giveaway winner – Anant P will be the other Indian player joining the Main Event.

Meanwhile, Sunday Nov 8 saw the culmination of Event 7 – HK $25,000 ACOP Warm Up with China`s Dong Guo (cover image) emerging as the champion. Day 2 of Event 8 – HK $250,000 High Roller was the other headline event that played down to its final table yesterday.

 

2015 ACOP HK $100,000 Main Event

The 2015 ACOP highlight HK $100,000 buy-in Main Event Day 1A begins today at 3pm local time. The action is set to be a thrilling one with several notables lined up to participate. Debuting in Macau will be Brazilian football legend Ronaldo. For our Indian viewers, all eyes will be on Team PokerStars Pro Aditya Agarwal. Anant P and Kunal Patni are other Indians expected to be joining in. The event features a whopping HK $15,000,000 prize pool guarantee.

 

Event 7: HK $25,000 ACOP Warm-Up

45-year old Chinese player Dong Guo beat the 256 runners in the Warm Up event for the lion’s share of HK $1,370,860 (US $135,000), as well as his first Spadie. Only 27 players cashed from the HK $5,711,360 prize pool.

Kunal Patni had entered on Day 1, but was busted early on.

Event 8: HK $250,000 High Roller Day 2

Day 2 of the High Roller saw an additional eight entries through late registrations. These joined the 39 survivors from Day 1, taking the total number of entries to 63.

At the end of the day, only seven players remained, all who have made it to the money. The eventual winner will take home the largest piece of HK $4,890,600 (US $650,000) from the created prize pool of HK $14,817,600 (US $1,911,564.94).

Bubble boy turned out to be American Carlos Chadha, who risked his entire stack with ace-ten. Wang Zuo’s pocket queens proved stronger, with a board that had no favors for Chaddha and as he exited all the remaining were in the money with the min-cash being HK $889,000 (US $118,000).

Pre-bubble, a number of notables hit the rails and these included John Juanda, Shawn Buchanan, Erik Seidel, Kitty Kuo, Jonathan Karamalikis and Sam Trickett. Day 1 chip leader Allan Bedwick was one among those who busted.

Thai player Phanlert Sukonthachartnant with a massive stack of 4,325,000 emerged the chip leader at the end of Day 2.
