The 3-day World Series of Poker Circuit €1,650 Main Event at the King’s Casino in Rozvadov finally ended with a winner found in Mateusz Dziewonski (cover image), who collected the €206,927 winning purse and the prized gold ring. The event drew a large 715 entry-crowd and the final day saw 31 of these return to fight for a full 14 hours.
Dziewonski started the final table lowest in chips, but doubled up quickly and finally went on to clinch the title.
The eight-handed final table began, with the elimination of Aleksei Ivanov in ninth place.
The first casualty of the final table was surprisingly Tonino Schmitz, who had the second largest stack. Schmitz was busted in eighth place by Jens Steuber for €24,311.
Dziewonski, who was lowest in chips at the start of the final table, took the next elimination, profiting from Dragoslav Timarac, who exited at seventh place. 2015 WPT National Vienna champion Zoltan Gal followed at sixth place, when his ace-five were overcome by Johnny Hansen’s ace-jack.
Dziewonski, then again emerged to take back-to-back eliminations, busting Stefan Raschbauer and Jens Steuber in fifth and fourth place respectively.
The ensuing three-handed action was aggressive, but short. Hansen finally hit the rails, when his ace five, met a board that favored Dziewonski’s ace-nine. This gave Dziewonski a 2 to 1 lead at heads up play.
The final hand saw the Polish player check-raise all in after the turn, with the board showing . King’s proved futile against the of Dziewonski with a landing on the river and he had to settle for 2nd place with €126,002.
