The 2016/2017 Seminole Hard Rock Poker (SHRP) is back with its last stop of the season at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood. The concluding stop of the season is underway since Aug 3 with three champions already crowned in as many events.

And in the news once again is Nipun Java (cover image) who seems to be on a heater of a lifetime! What a summer is has been for the Indian-origin Java who bagged not one but two gold bracelets at WSOP 2017. He juggernauted his way to victory once again, adding $230,849 to his very already impressive summer scorecard by shipping Event #1: $570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry) at SHRPO.

Joining him at the series today will be Team PokerStars pro Aditya Agarwal who has had a busy summer himself. Agarwal was one of the early arrivals at WSOP 2017 and cashed in an incredible 11 bracelet events. He is back on familiar territory – Agarwal had made a 30th place finish at the SHRPO Main Event in September ’14 and will be looking to pick up a big score here once again.

It was a grand opening for the series with the opening event drawing a massive 3,173 entries creating a prize pool of $1,586,500. The top 300 finishers made the money.

Day 2 saw a little more than 600 players with Paul Kelly leading the pack. However by the end of the day the field was trimmed down to a mere 12 players with Java holding a big lead. Two more eliminations later a final table of ten was settled.

Final Table Recap

David Shmuel and Andrea Lloha were the first ones to hit the rails followed by former SHRP champion Manny Minaya.

After Brian Powell dropped out in fifth place Java’s lead extended to over 30,000,000 making up for almost half of the chips in play with four players remaining.

At this point a deal was discussed to chop out the remaining prize pool and the same was finalized soon. Owing to his huge stack Java was awarded $230,849 and it didn`t take him long to win the championship trophy.

It’s a confidence game,” Java commented about his recent run. “It’s tough to quantify what exactly works, why it’s a confidence game, but there’s something about poker which momentum is a real thing.

I think if you’re playing well and you keep putting yourself in good spots,” he continued, “It does help.”
