WSOP Online 2020: Alexander Stacey Claims Career-First Gold Bracelet in Event #61 ($127,660)

Event #61: $300 Monster Stack NLHE 6-Handed of the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online series, hosted on GGPoker and Natural8, attracted 3,491 to create a prize pool worth $973,989. United Kingdom’s Alexander “MightyWarior” Stacey became the latest entry on the list of first-time WSOP bracelet winners at the ongoing series. He traversed the field to claim a personal-best $127,660 in prize money!

A relatively unknown player, Stacey has only recorded live cash on Hendon Mob – a 12th place finish in the 2019 partypoker MILLIONS World Bahamas for $1,100.

Stacey had joined the final table as one of the shorter stacks. He eliminated Hui “rrnutscn” Wang, Arnaud Enselme, Sami “ToasterBono” Koivuneva, and eventual runner-up Craig “Tonkaiktomni” Lecompte, en-route to claiming the title.

The top 440 players received payouts, and the noteworthy names who boarded the money bus included Rodney “BadCards” Lawrence (13th for $6,637), Aki “Seabossss” Virtanen (19th for $3,372), GGPoker Twitch Streamer Patrick “Egption” Tardif (22nd for $3,372) and Jack Salter (31st for $2,404).

Charles “TheMadQueen” La Boissonniere 10th place elimination for $6,637, set up the nine-handed final table.

Towards the end of Level 37, Hui “rrnutscn” Wang‘s ran into Alexander “MightyWarior” Stacey’s . The community cards opened , and Stacey paired his queen on the turn to oust Wang in sixth place.

After the 11th break of the day had concluded, it was Michael “Blank0DMT” Schwartz turn to fall out on the final table. He raised the pot to 9.65 Million from UTG, and Arnaud Enselme announced all-in from the big blind with a bigger stack. Schwartz called with his last 3 Million, tabling . Enselme flipped over . The runout saw Enselme flopping top pair to knock Schwartz out in fifth place.

Less than 20 minutes later, Arnaud Enselme shoved UTG for 17.77 Million, and Stacey called from the big blind.

Finishing in third place was Sami “ToasterBono” Koivuneva. His elimination came about when he jammed from the button for 5.14 Million. Craig “Tonkaiktomni” Lecompte looked him up from the small blind. Stacey 3-bet shoved for more, prompting Lecompte to fold. Koivuneva was in good shape with his pitted against Stacey’s .
