WSOP Online 2020: Daniel Dvoress Headlines the 9-Handed FT in Event #48: Millionaire Maker on GGPoker

Sunday saw one of the marquee tournaments of the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online series commence on GGPoker/Natural8. Event #48: $1,500 MILLIONAIRE MAKER played out its Day 2, with a nine-player final table making it to Day 3. Canadian poker superstar Daniel Dvoress (cover image) grabbed the overnight chip lead with a humongous stack of 92,476,846, just shy of 100 Million in chips. Ranked #5 on Canada’s All-Time Money List, the Toronto-based pro has more than $15 Million in live tournament winnings.

As the name of the event suggests, the player who wins the title will bank a life-altering seven-figure top prize north of $1 Million! To be precise, a $1,489,289 payday, with the runner-up set to receive $1,072,428.

The event hosted a marathon 15 starting flights, registering a total of 6,232 entries, culminating in a jaw-dropping $8,976,075 prize pool!

Several Indian players were seen in action, but none made it through to Day 3. Many ‘desi’ pros managed to finish in the money, and among them, the ones who came the closest to final tabling the event was “deadman1100” (27th for $15,012 – ~₹11.26 Lakhs), “d0rk21” (30th for $15,012 – ~₹11.26 Lakhs), “setmeup” (59th for $9,550 – ~₹7.16 Lakhs) and “Neel” (86th for $8,214 – ~₹6.16 Lakhs)!

The final day of the MILLIONAIRE MAKER will resume on Saturday, August 8.

 

Day 2 Recap

A total of 1,041 runners made it through to Day 2 across 15 starting flights. However, only 764 were slated to finish in the money.

Fedor Kruse became the unlucky money bubble and was dismissed in 765th place.

Croatia’s Laurynas Levinskas was the first player to cross the money line and was eliminated in 764th place for $2,114.

Canada’s Daniel Dvoress bagged the biggest stack of 92.47 Million (30.8 BBs), with Argentina’s Alejandro “pepealas” Caridad (64 Million – 21.3 BBs) and Brazil’s Neville “NevSlater” Endo Costa (43.13 Million – 14.4 BBs), rounding out the top three stacks.
