Event #17: $777 No-Limit Hold’em of the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online rallied up 1,382 entries, comprising of 917 unique participants and 465 re-buys, creating a $967,400 prize pool. The tourney played out for over 11 hours, and after the dust had settled, Pat “IchiiKawawa” Lyons emerged as the victor!

Like the real identity of the winner of Event #16: $500 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo, i.e., Terrell “Heezahustla” Cheatham, was announced by the WSOP, the brand was quick to reveal Lyons’ identity as well.

A resident of San Mateo, California, Lyons has $1.58 Million in live tournament winnings, of which $87,772 account for WSOP cashes. He is a former WSOPC ring winner and had shipped Event #12: $580 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo at the 2018 WSOPC The Bicycle Casino for $17,365.

Lyons started out with the third largest stack on the final table, and right from the get-go, he eliminated Dave “DunningKrugr” Alfa. Once three players were left in the fray, Lyons took over the chip lead from Barry “_MLB_” Wenger and eventually knocked out the latter in third place. He faced “NJ_GLive” in the heads-up, but the chip deficit was too vast for the latter to overcome, relegating them to the runner-up spot. Lyons clinched his first-ever gold bracelet, as well as the $173,551 top prize!

With the top 207 places assured payouts, “ejanicom” went out on the stone-cold money bubble when they hit the rail in 208th place.

Roland “prngls12” Israelashvili (12th for $10,060.96), Andrew “PintoPedro” Donabedian (17th for $6,288.10), Ryan “Adopt_aDogg0” Leng (26th for $5,127.22), Upeshka “gomezhamburg” De Silva (50th for $2,902.20), Robert “NeverEven” Peacock (79th for $1,934.80), GGPoker Ambassador Daniel “DNegs” Negreanu (123rd for $1,354.36) and Dan “PepperPrince” Zack (147th for $1,257.62), were among the notables who crossed the money line.
