Event #45: $840 Bounty NLHE of the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online played out on GGPoker and Natural8, registering 2,382 entries who contributed to the $1,906,500 prize pool. United Kingdom’s Patrick “Muddington” Kennedy clinched his career-first bracelet, and $245,448, that included $140,768 in prize money and $104,680 in bounties!
Kennedy entered the final table in pole position, eliminating five of the other eight players, namely Francesco “Pachamama” Favia, Arie “abush” Kliper, Franco “pelaguacha” Spitale and eventual runner-up Joshua “kaledak” Pollock. A two-time WSOP bracelet winner, Pollock tried hard to capture his third bracelet, but it wasn’t meant to be. Nevertheless, he still bagged a commendable $113,176 in second-place prize money.
Some of the notables who also managed to finish in the money included Jie “MTT0516” Wu (11th for $7,229), Blaaz “Sc4rm4k3r” Azerjav (12th for $7,229), Kazuki “8809” Ikeuchi (13th for $7,229), Gabi “kidrurim” Livshitz (16th for $5,198), Yuri Dzivielevski (17th for $5,198), Andres “chokitin” Korn (18th for $3,738), Rodrigo “Kripitonita” Pfeifer (31st for $2,687) and Michael “YesPlease” Clacher (36th for $2,687).
Following the elimination of Alessandro “GoldRush” Giannelli in 10th place for $7,229, the nine-player final table was formed.

Predictably, the shortest stack Jose “robertoduran” Severino was also the first player to be eliminated. His ran into Chi Chung “chipuker” Ho’s that bettered to a two pair on the board . Severino walked out in ninth place.
Towards the end of Level 34, Francesco “Pachamama” Favia’s were pitted against Patrick “Muddington” Kennedy’s . The board ran out and Kennedy turned a boat, eliminating Favia in eighth place.
Less than five minutes later, Ho Yin “hoyintai” Tai jammed from the cutoff for 4.17 Million, and Franco “pelaguacha” Spitale called from the big blind, holding . Tai turned over . The board bricked, and Spitale’s cowboys sent Tai to the rail in seventh place.
Finishing in sixth place was Arie “abush” Kliper. He moved all-in from the cutoff for 5.83 Million, and Kennedy 3-bet shoved from the small blind. Ho folded his big blind.

The rundown spread out . While Kliper did pair his eights, it wasn’t enough to beat Kennedy’s pocket nines, eliminating the former from the competition.
At the start of Level 36, Chi Chung “chipuker” Ho shoved from the button for 6.54 Million. Joshua “kaledak” Pollock called from the big blind, tabling . Ho turned over . The runout missed both players, ending Ho’s run in fifth place.
Play carried on for about 15 minutes before the next elimination took place. Kennedy moved all-in from the small blind with . Franco “pelaguacha” Spitale called from the big blind with his last 2.76 Million, holding . The board blanked, dismissing Spitale in fourth place.
Down to three-handed play, Kennedy limped in on the button, and Pollock completed his small blind. Bernardo “GGeKKo” Dias checked to see the flop. All three players checked through to the turn . Pollock led out for 1.005 Million, and Dias raised it to 3.01 Million. Kennedy jammed, prompting Pollock to fold. Dias called with his remaining 8.35 Million. Dias had for a turned two pair, but it was no match for Kennedy’s that had improved to a Queen-high straight on the river. Dias bowed out in third place.
The heads-up began with Patrick “Muddington” Kennedy (46,146,904) enjoying a dominating chip lead over Joshua “kaledak” Pollock (13,403,096). Despite starting out on the backfoot, the two-time WSOP bracelet winner Pollock fought hard. He even managed to take a slight lead against Kennedy but lost it to the latter just as quickly. In the end, Kennedy denied Pollock his third WSOP bracelet!
On the final hand, Kennedy raised to 1.2 Million and Pollock 3-bet to 4.2 Million. Kennedy shoved, and Pollock called with his last 24.76 Million.

The runout changed nothing, as Kennedy’s higher pocket pair won him the title and the top prize of $245,448, which included $140,768 in regular prize money and $104,680 in bounties!
