Turkey’s Selahaddin Bedir (cover image) had come within striking distance of taking down Event #2: $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em of the 2021 Super High Roller Bowl (SHRB) Europe on Wednesday. He lost the heads-up battle to Frenchman Johan Guilbert. Making up for that near-miss, Bedir championed Event #4: $50,000 No-Limit Hold’em just two days later for a personal-best $832,000.

However, the biggest talking point in the event was the deep run by none other than Phil Ivey. The Event #1: $25,000 Short Deck champion was eyeing his second title of the series and made quite a comeback on the FT. However, a second SHRB title wasn`t meant to be as Bedir flexed his heads-up chip lead to win the title.

Before his success in these two high-stakes events, Bedir’s most significant cash came from his third-place finish in the 2019 Merit Poker Retro $5,300 Main Event for $190,010. After an eventful past week, he now has $1.90 Million in career earnings to his name.

Having started out as the final table chip leader, Bedir secured five knockouts on the FT, including his heads-up opponent, the Poker Hall of Famer Phil Ivey.

Event #4: $50,000 No-Limit Hold’em attracted 52 entrants and created a prize pool of $2,600,000 that paid the final eight players.

Laszlo Bujtas earned the infamous ‘bubble boy’ tag in ninth place.

Final Table Recap

It seemed like déjà vu when Danny Tang became the first player to once again hit the rail on the final table. He was the first player to be eliminated in Event #3: $25,000 Short Deck a day ago. Entering the final table as the shortest stack did not help Tang’s cause.

The heads-up between Selahaddin Bedir (6,600,000) and Phil Ivey (1,200,000) was a lopsided affair, with the former enjoying a dominating lead. Despite starting out as one of the shortest stacks on the final table, the 10-time WSOP bracelet winner did well to make it to the heads-up. Sadly, winning his second SHRB title in less than a week wasn’t meant to be. The heads-up lasted for less than an hour, ending with Bedir winning the title.
