2022 PGT Stairway to Millions: Chance Kornuth Ships Event #7: $2,740 NLHE For $45,373; Bags Third PGT Stairway To Millions Title

Three-time WSOP bracelet winner Chance Kornuth (cover-image) has done it again! The poker coach and Chip Leader Coaching founder topped the 92-player field in Event #7: $2,740 NLHE at the 2022 Stairway To Millions taking place at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, banking a winner`s purse worth $45,373. Dave Lin cashed for $28,133 in second place.



Kornuth is a poker veteran, with his first recorded live score dating back to 2008. It`s been an eventful year for him, for he has FT-ed eight live tournaments, converting four of them into title victories.

The 36-year-old’s career-best score is the $721,144 he won in the 2022 WSOP $100,000 NLHE – High Roller Bounty event. Earlier this year, he championed the WPT Choctaw Main Event for $486,600.

With the win, Kornuth joins Michael Wang, becoming the second player to win three PGT Stairway to Millions titles. He is ranked 45th on poker`s All-Time Money List with over $11.55 Millions in live tournament earnings.

The series perk allowed players who bust out after the money bubble, including Philip Shing, Jim Agate, Gus Kalathakis, Joe Curcio, Qing Liu, and Bill Klein, to collect a ticket worth $5,350 to Event #8.

The $2,740 buy-in tourney generated a $230,000 prize pool. The top 12 finishers made it in the money with a min-cash worth $3,025.

Wu Zhou became the first player to exit the final table. His dismissal came about after his failed to improve against Kao Saechao’s .

The only lady on the final table, Victoria Livschitz, was the next to depart. Livschitz’s went head-to-head against Kornuth’s , but with no help on the runout, she crashed out in fifth place.

Samy Dighlawi, who shipped Event #4: $900 NLHE, busted in fourth place. Dighlawi’s could not crack Kornuth’s .

Finishing in third place was Kao Saechao, whose were bested by Kornuth’s .

Chance Kornuth (7.50 Million) had Dave Lin (1.70 Million) dominated at the start of the heads-up match. However, Lin scored a massive double-up through the poker coach, surging into a 7:2 chip lead. Kornuth fought back and eventually took hold of the chip lead and rode it across the finish line.

On the final hand, Lin jammed his last 275,000 from the button with . Kornuth called from the big blind with . The community cards ran out , getting Kornuth the title and the top prize!

The top three finishers, Kao Saechao, Dave Lin and Chance Kornuth, received a ticket to Event #9: $10,400 NHLE.
