The 2024 Super High Roller Series is heating up the luxurious Merit Royal Diamond Hotel & Spa in North Cyprus, with the prestigious Super High Roller Bowl IX now in full swing. Amidst all the high-stakes action, Danish poker pro Martin Dam (cover image) just etched his name into PGT history, capturing his very first title! He outlasted a field of 23 world-class players in Event #8: $25,750 Pot-Limit Omaha (7-Max), walking away with a massive $278,000 and catapulting his total live earnings north of $1.30 Million.

This victory is another shining achievement in what’s shaping to be a banner year for this PLO specialist. It’s Dam`s fifth cash finish and second major title of 2024 after his mind-blowing win at the Triton Super High Roller Series $30K PLO Bounty Quattro in May, where he bagged a career-high $530,000! He also had a solid run at the ARIA High Roller Series $10,100 Pot Limit Omaha in June, finishing in sixth place. With this PGT win, Dam has firmly announced his arrival on the high-stakes scene.

But Dam wasn’t the only one making waves. Jordan’s Yassin Mahmoud also put on a show, finishing in second place for a career-best $165,500. This impressive result skyrocketed his lifetime earnings to $344,550, making him the #2 ranked player on Jordan’s all-time money list.

The $25,750 buy-in event was packed with drama. A small but incredibly talented group of poker pros went head-to-head, all hungry for a piece of the massive $563,500 prize pool. The tension was palpable, with only three spots initially slated to pay out.

After Tomasz Krzesinski and Jan-Peter Jachtmann exited in sixth and fifth place, the remaining four players decided to strike a deal to guarantee a payout for everyone left. Gergo Nagy ended up taking fourth place, walking away with $25,000 and 15 PGT points. Imad Derwiche followed him out, claiming third place and $95,000, along with 57 PGT points.

The heads-up battle was a nail-biter. Dam and Mahmoud traded blows, the chip lead swinging back and forth like a pendulum. Every hand was a potential game-changer. Dam started with a chip disadvantage, but he quickly turned the tables with a clutch double-up. Mahmoud fought back like a cornered tiger, doubling up three times in a row and putting immense pressure on Dam. But Dam kept his cool, played smart, and eventually overcame the odds to win the back-and-forth heads-up battle.
