Stephen Chidwick (cover image), the British poker legend, has triumphed again! He just won his second WSOP bracelet in Event #8: $50,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship at the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise in the Bahamas. He fought through a field of 122 of the world’s best players to win the $1.357 Million top prize and reaffirm his dominance in the four-card variant.
Entering Day 3 with just 12 big blinds, Chidwick had his work cut out for him. He was up against six other elite players vying for the top prize, but he never gave up. With incredible focus and his undeniable skill in the format, he clawed his way to the top, ultimately defeating Yang Wang heads-up. Wang had an amazing run himself, taking home a career-best $1.007 Million for his second-place finish!

Chidwick’s PLO record is incredible. He’s now won over $5.40 Million in PLO tournaments, putting him second on the all-time money list for the game. This win just confirms his status as one of the best PLO tournament players ever.
At only 35 years old, Chidwick has already built an incredible poker career. With nearly $63.60 Million in lifetime winnings, he’s third on the overall all-time money list. This was his fifth title of 2024 and his 20th final table appearance this year! He’s also cashed for over a million dollars 13 times in his career, which is just insane!
Meanwhile, in the Super Main Event…
The first-ever $25,000 Super Main Event is making history with its jaw-dropping $50 million prize pool! Day 1B saw 254 entries, adding to the 461 from Day 1A, for a total of 715 entries so far. After ten hours of intense play, only 85 players survived to Day 2. Fedor Holz, the German poker superstar, ended the day as the chip leader with a huge stack of 4.88 Million.
India’s Krishna Madhariwar and Santhosh Suvarna played Day 1B but unfortunately couldn`t bag for Day 2. They still have a chance to make a deep run, though, with two more starting flights left. They’ll be hoping to join their fellow countryman PokerStars India ambassador Neel Joshi, who bagged a healthy 2.045 Million chips on Day 1A.
$50K Pot-Limit Omaha Championship Highlights
Day 2 of the $50K Pot-Limit Omaha Championship was wild! Forty players returned, and 32 new entries joined the action, bringing the total field to 122 participants and creating a staggering $6.10 Million prize pool.
Only the top 18 players would make the money, with a min-cash of $107,130. The pressure was on! Some big names fell short of the money, and once the bubble burst, the eliminations came quickly.
Mike Watson (9th for $145,640), Artur Martirosian (10th for $145,640), Scott Seiver (11th for $124,910), Dirk Gerritse (12th for $124,910), Ronald Keijzer (13th for $124,910), Phil Hellmuth (14th for $107,130), Joao Simao (15th for $107,130), Samuli Sipila (16th for $107,130), Andjelko Andrejevic (17th for $107,130), and Philip Sternheimer (18th for $107,130) all cashed but couldn’t make it to the final table.
Sam Greenwood was the final table bubble boy, finishing in eighth place for $169,800. Greenwood’s exit was the last chapter in Day 2’s dramatic narrative, leaving seven players to battle it out for the coveted title on the final day.

Final Table Recap
Day 3 started with a bang as Chidwick doubled up early in a hand against Dylan Weisman. Chidwick held , and when the board ran out , his flush left Weisman’s in the dust. It was a sign of things to come!

But the early spotlight belonged to Ben Tollerene, who came in with the chip lead, hungry for his first WSOP bracelet. He wasted no time, sending Pascal Lefrancois packing in seventh place. Tollerene’s found a pair on the board, crushing Lefrancois’ .
Tollerene continued his rampage, crippling Benny Glaser and leaving him with a measly 5,000 chips. Glaser was out soon after in sixth place, leaving Tollerene firmly in control.
Meanwhile, Chidwick steadily climbed the ranks, scoring a crucial double-up through Tollerene, reclaiming some of the momentum. Just as it seemed Tollerene was unstoppable, Yan Wang emerged as a formidable contender, fearlessly snatching pots from both Tollerene and Chidwick and shaking up the standings.
The tension was palpable as the eliminations came thick and fast. Dylan Weisman was the next to fall in fifth place, his unable to outrun Chidwick’s after the dealer laid out .

Chidwick, now a man on a mission, quickly claimed another victim, eliminating Nick Schulman. Schulman’s was cracked by Chidwick’s when the cards fell , narrowing the field to a tense three-way battle.

The three-handed showdown saw Ben Tollerene’s dreams of gold begin to fade. His was unable to catch Wang’s on the board, sending him to the rail. This was Tollerene’s second podium finish of the series, adding to the sting of another runner-up finish in the $250K Super High Roller this summer. The bracelet continues to elude him.

Heads-up play commenced with Yang Wang holding a formidable two-to-one chip advantage over Stephen Chidwick. But Chidwick, a seasoned competitor, was far from defeated. He landed an early double-up, setting the scene for a fierce heads-up duel. The two players traded blows in a series of small pots, their chip stacks remaining relatively even. Wang briefly regained the lead, but Chidwick, in a moment of brilliance, made a gutsy river call that shifted the momentum in his favour, leaving him with a commanding four-to-one chip lead.
Chidwick relentlessly applied pressure, grinding Wang down, determined to finish the job. But Wang wasn’t going down quietly. He dramatically rivered a flush to double up and then snatched another crucial pot, narrowing the gap and rekindling the suspense.
The final hand saw Yang Wang move all-in with , only to be met with Chidwick’s . The board delivered no miracles, sealing the victory for Chidwick.
