Michael Rossitto Champions WPTDeepStacks Championship at Thunder Valley For $250,073

The WPTDeepStacks Championship at Thunder Valley Resort & Casino in Northern California closed out a smashing series on Tuesday night. The $2,500 buy-in event registered a commendable 588 entries via two-starting flights to accumulate $1,311,828 in the prize pool. Michael Rossitto was the last player standing and won $250,073 in front of a virtual rail following the action on a delayed live stream on WPT.com. Paul Snead placed runner-up for $171,750.

Speaking to reporters after the event, Rossitto said, “Well, it feels pretty good. I started the day pretty rough. I ran pretty good from there. I got a little short, but I stayed deep, and that’s all that matters, but I got lucky.”

He added, “I came into the FT pretty well in the middle of the pack. I was winning pots; it was going well. That trips hand versus Andrew really vaulted me into the chip lead, and then Paul went on a hot streak, and the Jack’s hand was basically everything. If I don’t turn the Jack, it’s going to work, so you can’t fault him. I just played aggressively. I got to a place where I could raise and take it more, and everyone else just had to fold.”

The top 74 places were paid with a min-cash worth $3,680.

Among the other players who FT-ed the event were Andrew Ostapchenko (3rd for $110,085), Zach Smyth (4th for $80,035), Justin Levitt (5th for $61,435), William Prin (6th for $50,440), Brad Miller (7th for $41,570), Brock Wilson (8th for $33,150), and Steve Chanthabouasy (9th for $24,870).

On the final hand, Michael Rossitto’s were dominating Paul Snead’s . The runout didn`t change a thing, and just like that Rossitto took down the event for $250,073.
