Vladimir Grechnikov Wins RGPS Main Event at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek For $80,268
The RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) made its latest stop at the Seminole Coconut Creek, in South Florida, from April 21 to May 2. The $1,100 Main Event drew 608 entries, eventually winding down to the final four players who returned on the last day.
The four finalists agreed to a deal, and it was Vladimir Grechnikov who emerged triumphant to grab the title and a career-best live score of $80,268.
A recreational-player born in New Jersey, Grechnikov had come into the final day second in chips. Though he suffered an early setback, he soon scored a crucial double-up. Grechnikov eliminated two of his three final opponents, including Jason Wandling, heads-up to claim the top prize.
But his heads-up match against Wandling was not a cakewalk for Grechnikov, who had started with a lead but soon lost a big pot. In the final hand, Grechnikov’s pocket tens held through against Wandling’s ace-queen on the seven-high board.
Talking about his victory run, Grechnikov said – “I haven’t fully grasped it yet,” adding that he will now “have more money to play more tournaments.”
RunGoodGear tweeted about Grechnikov’s victory.
From 608 total entries, only 4 players returned today in the $1,100 Main Event at @CasinoCocoPoker. After a heads up deal and just under one hour of play, Vladimir Grechnikov emerged victorious with a career- best of $80,268!
