Maeteusz Warowiec Takes Down MPN Poker Tour Prague 2019

Hosted at Rebuy Stars Savarin Casino from May 2-5 in the heart of the Czech capital, the MPN Poker Tour Prague was the second stop for the MPN Poker Tour. The series was an intense affair and headlining the show was the €675 buy-in Main Event where 402 runners joined the action via three starting flights. Only the top 23 survived through to the final day, and it was Poland’s Mateusz Warowiec who took home the title.

Warowiec was in dominant form right from Day 1A when he had topped 33 survivors. He continued his winning streak right to the final table where he defeated Marko Keskel heads-up to collect the winner’s paycheque worth 900,000 Kč (~€36,000).

From a prize pool of 4,808,925 Kč (€192,357), the top 47 finishers earned at least 28,750 Kč (€1,150).

Final Table Recap

The final table action was replete with twists and turns. Jason Poelman and Martin Mulsow hit the rail first, in ninth and eighth places respectively.

Then came the shocking back-to-back eliminations where Daniel Stacey suffered a massive setback and ended up leaving in seventh place. Following him to the rail was Vilem Vrana whose ace-king suited got run down by Alex Clark’s pocket tens.

The four-handed play slowed down for a while before Jari-Pekka Rattya moved all in with a short stack holding king-eight and picked up two callers in Warowiec and Marko Keskel. Warowiec scooped the pot, eliminating Rattya in fourth place.

Rattya and Keskel were the last two remaining Paf qualifiers, and Rattya’s elimination left Keskel as the only Paf qualifier still standing in the field, for which he won the Paf’s ‘qualifiers last-longer’ contest, and a free MPNPT London package.

Andrei Lazar was booted out in third place, leaving Marko Keskel and Warowiec in contention for the title. Eventually, Warowiec limped from the button with , and Keskel moved all in with .
