The 888poker banner has a big online poker extravaganza lined up this September. The XL Eclipse online poker festival will open on September 13 and continue till September 23. With 34 events that feature buy-ins ranging from $8.80 to $2,600 and many attractive bonus offerings on the palate, the series will offer a robust and competitive virtual environment for poker players.
There are three opening events on September 13 and the first of them, i.e. the $100,000 Opening Event guarantees a prize pool of $100,000 while the buy-in is $109.
Among the other highlights are the $100,000 Mega Deep that is a $215 buy-in tournament on September 16. The same day, players can also enter the $125,000 Tune Up that has a $160 buy-in.
For high roller regulars there are three tiers of high roller events lined up on September 18. While the $2,600 buy-in High Roller boasts a guarantee of $200,000, the Mini and Late High Roller events feature buy-ins of $215 and $160 respectively.
In addition to 888poker ambassadors Chris Moorman, Martin Jacobson and Dominik Nitsche, there are many big names expected to compete in the series.
“It’s a good time zone to play which gives you a chance to go out in the morning for a workout as well as being able to go for dinner at the end of the day. I usually travel with a monitor, which helps me to be able to play more tables. I will be studying in the next few weeks to feel better prepared as well,”said Moorman, adding that he plans to play the $2,600 High Roller but wouldn’t miss the lower buy-ins events as well. Although he currently resides in Las Vegas, the 888poker ambassador will be playing most of the series from Mexico.
Meanwhile, 888poker ambassador Jacobson will be playing the series right from his home in London.
“I never travel for online series simply because if I did, I would never be home,” Jacobson said.
“I have a pretty good setup at my house with a gym and office all in the same room. My routine will be strategic for long days/nights behind the screen and consist of meditation, running, moving, meal prepping, supplementation, and recovery techniques.”
He added, “I’ll try to play as much as I can, but I don’t have a schedule yet as I’m quite busy. I will most likely play all the higher buy-ins though, and I’d love to take down the Main Event this time. I chopped it before, and I really want to do better.”
In the final week, an 8-Max, Quarterback, and Knockout event will be hosted, apart from 6-Max tournaments. Wrapping up the series will be the $1,050 buy-in Main Event that will be hosted on September 23 and boasts a $1 Million guarantee. Alongside there are also the Mini and Micro Main Events kicking off on the same day, and buy-ins for those are $160 and $33 respectively.
Sweetening the deal, 888poker has added attractive bonus offerings for the participants. There is bonus prize money of $1,000 for players who win two events, while $10,000 will be awarded to players winning three events, $100,000 for those winning four and $1,000,000 for those winning five events at the series. Anyone who manages to reach three or more final tables will win a $600 tournament ticket and players who are consistent performers and cash in eight or more events will win a $215 tournament ticket.
Players can participate in free qualifiers or earn XL Eclipse entries through a number of satellites that start at just $0.01. The daily Free Eclipse Main Event qualifiers have started. The top three players will win $1,050 seats via the 9 PM GMT qualifiers, while in the free qualifiers that begin at 5 PM GMT daily, a total of 30 $12 seats for the Eclipse Mini Tune Up event will be awarded.
