Monday’s are no longer the “off-days” for MTT regs as they used to be, and the change has to be credited to Spartan Poker, with the site running two Monday marquees for the second week running.

The day’s headliner, the ₹33 Lakhs GTD The Big Deal, was championed by Young Gun Abhinav Iyer for ₹7.44 Lakhs, who struck a heads-up deal with PokerGuru Ambassador and defending champion Ankit Wadhawan (runner-up for ₹6.72 Lakhs).

The second Spartan Poker flagship, the ReCharge, saw Rajesh Kumar overcoming a guarantee-smashing field to win ₹1.90 Lakhs, following a four-way deal with Alok Pawar (runner-up for ₹1.65 Lakhs), Buhr Advirkar (3rd for ₹1.56 Lakhs), and Yohan Patel (4th for ₹1.54 Lakhs).

Adda52’s Iron Man was taken down by Atishay Samuel for ₹2.09 Lakhs, while Abhishek Sonu won PokerStars India’s Battle Royale for ₹1.24 Lakhs.

Rishabh Baj (Won Adda52’s Voyager for ₹1.07 Lakhs), Achintya Acharya (Won PokerBaazi’s Holdem BOOST DST for ₹62,515), Debayan Das (Won PokerStars India’s Deepstack for ₹57,868) and Arindam Nayak (Won PokerBaazi`s PLO Boost Monster for ₹38,080) won the other marquee titles.

Here are the Monday highlights!

Spartan Poker

For a second consecutive week, Spartan Poker ran two Monday flagships on the same day, The Big Deal and the ReCharge, albeit both offered slightly reduced guarantees compared to last week.

The Big Deal had its guarantee reduced from ₹35 Lakhs to ₹33 Lakhs. After 168 contenders ponied up the ₹22,000 entry buy-in, the event collected a prize pool worth ₹33.60 Lakhs. It took a little over seven hours for the event to conclude, and in the end, bracelet winner Abhinav ‘hightr0ller’ Iyer was the last player standing. The Young Gun took home an impressive ₹7.44 Lakhs top prize, following a heads-up chop with PokerGuru Ambassador and last week’s The Big Deal champion Ankit ‘Shippament’ Wadhawan. Even though Wadhawan missed out on the chance of winning The Big Deal title on consecutive weeks, he still walked away with a hefty ₹6.72 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.

Abhinav Iyer, the former Elite winner, is now sitting atop ₹4.72 Crores in tracked online winnings and ₹1.76 Crores in net profits.

Like The Big Deal, the ReCharge also saw its guarantee slashed from ₹10 Lakhs to ₹9.5 Lakhs. However, it didn’t really matter as a massive 705-entry field in the ₹2,200 entry buy-in tourney clocked in a whopping ₹14.10 Lakhs prize pool. Rajesh ‘Folsom’ Kumar clinched the title for ₹1.90 Lakhs. He also finished third in Night Rider – Monster Stack for ₹43,707, netting ₹2.34 Lakhs overall.

Rajesh Kumar struck a four-way deal in the ReCharge before claiming the top honors and Alok ‘ALOK.’ Pawar (runner-up for ₹1.65 Lakhs), Buhr ‘Riokid’ Advirkar (3rd for ₹1.56 Lakhs), and Yohan ‘PAPITO’ Patel (4th for ₹1.54 Lakhs) were the other beneficiaries of the deal.

PokerStars India

It’s finally arrived! Starting today, PokerStars India will be playing host to its inaugural Summer Series. The 15-day fest assures ₹4.80+ Crores in prizes across 129 high-value events, making this the biggest MTT stop to be held on the site to date.

Before the Summer Series goes underway, the site hosted its regular Monday marquee, the ₹5 Lakhs GTD Battle Royale last night. Running from 7.30 PM to 2.06 AM, the event registered 196 participants, overlaying ₹10,000. PokerStars India regular Abhishek ‘Addysonu’ Sonu, who has won the site’s late-night Ultrasonic five times already, was seen championing the Battle Royale for a handsome ₹1.24 Lakhs (includes ₹79,805 in bounties). Karan ‘999AykA999’ Jain booked the runner-up spot for ₹49,090 (includes ₹5,156 in bounties).
