2014 ACOP Macau continues unabated, as every new event springs surprises. Our Indian warriors are surging ahead with full force and in Event 9. Team mentor Aditya “Intervention” Agarwal and Aditya Sushant, both are among the top ten chip counts entering Day 2. The High Roller is now down to 8 players for the final table.
Event 9 HK$25,000 ACOP Warm-up event began on Sunday and had a prize pool of HK$6,179,870, after 277 players dived into the fray.
The 2-day match will award the top winner with a prize of HK$1.4 million and only 31 players will make it to the money.
A number of our Indian challengers entered Day 1, with Amit Ajwani, Shashank Jain, Haresh Rajkumar, Karan Bhagat, Apoorva Goel and Amit Jain unable to make it to Day 2.
Kunal Patni made it to Day 2 with a stack of 20,800. Aditya “Intervention” Agarwal is leading at No. 8 in chip counts with 105,900. Aditya Sushant is hot on his heels at No. 9 with 90,000.
Sushant tweeted about his position saying, “Bagged 94k. 800/1600 tom. Gonna be table redraw. Will post more details when I find out.”
Amongst international players, a large number of Team PokerStars, such as Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier, Eugene Katchalov, Liv Boeree, Randy Lew, Raymond Wu, Vivian Im, Naoya Kihara, and Celina Lin entered Day 1, but only Lin managed to survive to Day 2.
Japan’s Kazuhiko Yotsushika has the biggest stack with 175,200 chips. Louis Salter with 172,000 and Ami Barer with 166,300, are following at 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Sunday also had Day 2 of the High Roller unfolding. Day 1 chip leader Joseph Cheong refused to let the advantage slip and will now enter the final table with the biggest stack of 12,665,000.
47 players began Day 2 and were reduced to 8 at the end of the day.
Indefatigable Phil Ivey exited on Day 2, along with other notables such as Igor Kurganov, Brian Roberts, Mike McDonald, Max Altergott, Sorel Mizzi, Tobias Reinkemeier and Team PokerStars Eugene Katchalov, Isaac Haxton and Jonathan Duhamel.
Duhamel almost reached the final table, when his nine-high flush fell to Cheong’s jack-high flush. With that huge pot, Cheong once again zoomed to the top of the chip counts.
Pratyush Buddiga and Daniel Colman are among others to join Cheong at the final table.
