The All India Gaming Federation (AIGF), which is the apex industry body for policy, advocacy and regulation in gaming, is on the verge of launching the ‘Pro Series’. Starting on September 4, this series will consist of events, roundtables and other initiatives that will help to create awareness about ‘skill gaming’ in India.

The skill gaming industry, which comprises of poker, rummy and fantasy sports, in the country is on a rise, with an exponential increase in the number of players and operators over the years. Keeping this fact in mind, the AIGF had recently launched the Skill Games Charters that laid the foundation for its members, in terms of transparency and disclosure, integrity, security and responsible gaming, player protection, etc.

To contribute further to the advancement of skill gaming, AIGF announced the launch of the ‘Pro Series’ to further emphasize the educational and experiential aspects of skill games for all concerned stakeholders.

The series will begin with a Masterclass where select pro poker players will discuss why poker is a mind sport based on the combination of skill, mathematics and decision-making abilities. The Masterclass will be followed by tournaments held at the Deltin Royale in Goa where poker pros Nikita Luther and Kunal Patni are expected to be in attendance.

Talking about the series, the chief executive officer (CEO) of AIGF, Roland Landers said,“There is still a lot of ambiguity surrounding skill gaming in India hence it is important to create awareness amongst the relevant stakeholders. The ‘Pro Series’ aims to achieve that objective wherein professional players and other domain experts will share key insights on the preponderance of skill required in these games.”
