It was a smashing Sunday on the online felts! Spartan Poker’s The Millionaire ₹1 Crore GTD was the talk of virtual felts as the mega tournament pulled in 1,362 entries through three starting flights, obliterating its advertised guarantee with a prize pool collection of ₹1.36 Crores. Anonymous player ‘hoodlincs’ championed the gigantic field, claiming a jaw-dropping ₹19.49 Lakhs, while online pro Anant ‘Pro’ Purohit, who had been in sublime form recently, both on the live and online felts, locked in an equally impressive ₹18.51 Lakhs for his runner-up finish. Purohit is perhaps one of the most well-known names on the virtual felts and had made waves earlier this year at the DPT Xpress series where he had won his first-ever live title in the ₹15K Main Event for ₹7.40 Lakhs.
Several other prominent events were hosted on Spartan Poker last night that saw ‘GHOSTF@CE’ (Sunday SuperStack ₹30 Lakh GTD for ₹5.82 Lakhs), Sameer ‘Falcon_Prince’ Paranjape (Big Daddy ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.19 Lakhs), ‘momstacos’ (₹3 Lakhs GTD DST for ₹59,010) and Paras ‘AAKKQQJJ’ Jain (Ultimate PLO ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹43,192) winning top prizes.
After withering through an overlay storm that had raged on for many weeks, Adda52`s Sunday mainstay tournament – Mega Suits ₹25 Lakhs GTD – was finally able to meet its guarantee last night. Attracting 505 entries (304 unique and 201 re-entries), the event generated ₹25.25 Lakhs in the prize pool. Recent Godfather X winner, Anil ‘spewtard’ Adiani, clinched the title and walked away with ₹6.06 Lakhs in prize money. The other Sunday signature event on Adda52, Big Slick ₹15 Lakhs GTD, was won by ‘saker’ for ₹2.10 Lakhs.
With PokerBaazi’s PPL little more than a week away, things are heating up on the Baazi felts. Yesterday, the Baazi Super Sunday (BSS) SuperStack ₹25 Lakhs GTD registered 626 entries (357 unique and 269 re-entries) with young talent Vishal ‘Vishallb22’ Bajaj coming out on top to win the title. The young player bested seasoned pro Akash ‘UtgWithUrMOM’ Malik (runner-up for ₹4.14 Lakhs) heads-up to bank a huge ₹5.91 Lakhs payday. In fact, Bajaj had a spectacular run on PokerBaazi last night, as he added another ₹97,821 to his bankroll for his runner-up finish in The Monster 6-Max ₹5 Lakhs GTD. India’s first solo WSOP gold bracelet winner Abhinav ‘griezmann’ Iyer won the event for ₹1.39 Lakhs.
‘TRIPPINonACID’ (Grinders #33 Main Event ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.23 Lakhs) and Shekhar ‘shakyshark’ Singh (BSS PLO ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹56,300) were the other big winners on PokerBaazi yesterday.
PokerStars India’s Sunday Special – Progressive KO ₹15 Lakhs GTD was another event that was able to surpass its guarantee after struggling for months. The event registered 320 entries (178 unique and 142 re-entries), creating a prize pool worth ₹16 Lakhs. ‘GRINDER1104’ took down the tournament for a ₹3.55 Lakhs payday.
The other Sunday events on PokerStars India were won by Deepak ‘spot_fixing’ Singh (Sunday Special (L) ₹10 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.87 Lakhs), Vishal ‘mdigurgaon’ Tulsyan (Sunday PLO ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹53,981) and ‘rdx1111’ (Sunday Warm-Up ₹1.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹29,090).
