APT Asian Poker Series Cambodia 2015: Thomas Lee Tops Day 1B of Main Event, Dhaval Mudgal Bubbles Deep Stack Turbo Event

The APT Asian Poker Series Cambodia 2015 continues in full swing, with Day 1B of the Main Event now over. Meanwhile three more side events have played out. These include Event 6 – $220 Pot Limit Omaha Hi, Event 7 – $330 No Limit Hold’em 2 and Event 8 – $165 Deep Stack Turbo 1.

Dhaval Mudgal who was in great spirits with a comfortable 63,575 in chips after Day 1A of the Main Event, decided to hop over into Event 8. However, despite a pretty good run, he missed the money by a whisker when he “bubbled” the tournament in sixth place, with only the remaining five cashing the event.

In Event 7, an Indian-origin player from Singapore – Dhanesh Chainani finished in third place for $1,830.

 

$1,100 Main Event Day 1B

40 hopefuls signed up for Day 1B and Canada`s Thomas Lee emerged as the chip leader with his end of day stack of 80,075. Only 26 players survived the second starting flight and will join the 32 players from Day 1A, for Day 2 today. These include our two Indian challengers – Dhaval Mudgal and Rajat Sharma.

Finally only the top 10 will make the money, with the min-cash worth $4,100, while the winner will take home the top prize of $26,130 and the trophy.

 

Event 6 – $220 Pot Limit Omaha Hi

Finland’s Tuomas Urtti won Event 6 for $2,860 and the trophy, after beating 37 entries, with only the top 5 finishers making the money.

 

Event 7 – $330 No Limit Hold’em 2

The NLH 2 event had 42 entries and finally it was Germany’s Herbert Baum, who claimed the title for $4,890. Indian-origin player from Singapore Dhanesh Chainani made a 3rd place finish for $1,830.

After bagging a healthy stack of 63,575 chips on Day 1A of the Main Event, Dhaval hopped onto play Event 7 and did pretty well there too. He missed the money bus by a whisker and bubbled the money with only top five players getting the share of prize pool.

Event 8 – Deep Stack Turbo 1

Event 8 registered 36 entries and Kristian Faering of Denmark was ultimate champion, and made a payday of $2,100.

Today Day 2 of the Main Event and Event 9 – $440 NLH 3 will roll out at 1 pm and 3 pm local time, respectively.
