After three-days of pre-event action, the second edition of the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Online Series officially kicked off on June 14. Day 1 of series was supposedly big, with 16 events on the schedule on GG Network’s Natural8.com. At around 9 PM IST yesterday, the site encountered technical interruptions forcing the organizers to pause the tournament. Only four events had completed at that time. The issue remained persistent for quite some time resulting in the cancellation of all remaining 12 events according to Natural8’s policy for Game Cancellation, Interruption, & Refund. The image below shows the events that got refunded as per Natural8 policy.
The Opening Event $500K GTD got canceled when 26 players were remaining with Japan’s ‘propofol-san’ sitting in the chip lead with a stack of 2,994,654 and thus was credited the victory.
The Featured Mini Main Event crowned Hong Kong’s Lester ’mon$terDad’ Edoc as the winner, as he was leading the 151 survivors when the tourney was paused. Edoc will receive an APT Trophy and APT Championship Ring to add to his collection. The software glitch ensured Edoc won his third APT ring, having won two Main Event titles in 2018.
‘AfternoonAA’ (Event #2: $50 Kick Off $10K GTD for $3.24K), ‘relentless’ (Event #3: $200 PLO $20K GTD for $3.71K), ‘lllllllllll’ (Event #4: $105 Progressive Bounty $30K GTD for $5.55K), and ‘M.Tsigalko’ (Event #5: $200 NLHE $40K GTD for $7.98K), were the other side event winners on Day 1 of the online series.
