APT Online Series: India’s ‘orionn7’ Takes Down PKO Event, ‘propofol-san,’ ‘ManuBO’ & ‘ebaTb&Pe3aTb’ Win 2nd Titles

The action is starting to peak on Natural8.com as the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Online Series 2nd Edition heads towards the business end of things. There were another 15 winners added at the series on what turned out to be a blockbuster Friday.

Bringing Team India its second title at the series was ‘orionn7.’ The player took down Event #189 Progressive Bounty for $6.46K that included $3.17K in bounties! On Thursday, India’s ‘potlords420’ had championed Event #178 $12.5K GTD PLO to become the first Indian to win an APT title in the 2nd Edition.

Three players booked a second title victory on Friday.

> The Event #88 Progressive Bounty winner, ‘propofol-san,‘ walked away with the second title of the series after taking down Event #197 High Roller Turbo for $9.70K.

> Event #49 Monster Stack winner ‘ManuBO’ was the last player standing in Event #190 NLHE and won $6.52K.

> Event#163 PLO winner, ‘ebaTb&Pe3aTb’, took down another PLO title, winning Event #188PLO for $1.96K.

One of the star attractions at the series, the $1 Million guaranteed APT Championships Event, completed four more flights. The $800 buy-in added an impressive 259 runners from the four flights to add to the existing 369 entries from Thursday. Russian poker pro Artur Martirosian (841,850), is sitting with overall chip lead after the eight starting flights.

The sixth Monster Stack event of the series played out five more flights yesterday, logging in 388 entries to take the tally to 667 entries. Leading the 202 survivors after the seven starting flights is Vincent Kwun Ngai ‘Peleus34’ Li.

The $75K GTD High Roller drew 71 contenders, posting an overlay of $7,550. The field whittled down to a heads-up finale between ‘AAAAkid’ and ‘BIG CHI.’ The former eventually came on top to win the biggest prize of the day worth $20.52K, while the latter collected $13.72K.

‘shinerrr’ championed the High Roller Deep Stack title yesterday for $11.79K.

Hands down the busiest player on Friday, ‘Beishadezhu2,’ set the virtual felts on fire. Having already won High Roller titles in Event #89 and Event #149, the player made a strong bid for a third title on Friday. The player final tabled an incredible four times but failed to convert even one of the opportunities. His FT scores on Friday came in Event #193 High Roller Deep Stack (3rd for $6.76K), Event #188 PLO (6th for $508), Event #194 PLO (2nd for $2.01K), and Event #197 High Roller Turbo (4th for $4.29K), for total winnings worth $13,575.44.

The other standout player on Friday was the Event #86: High Roller Deep Stack winner and Natural8 Ambassador Pete ‘TurboPete’ Chen, who posted two final table finishes yesterday. He finished third in Event #196 High Roller for $10.72K and placed runner-up in Event #188 PLO for $1.41K.

The headline $1 Million guaranteed APT Championships Event completed four more flights yesterday. The $800 buy-in added an impressive 259 runners from the four flights combined to add to the existing 369 entries.

There are 10 flights yet to go before Day 2 (final day) begins on Sunday, June 28, at 5.30 PM IST. There are four flights on the tap today.

Only 45 players made the onward journey to Day 2 from the four starting flights that were played yesterday, taking the total tally of Day 2 survivors to 111.

Russian poker pro Artur Martirosian (841,850), still holds the overall chip lead after the eight starting flights. ‘SpicyChknSangy’ (780,258), ‘COL_Moutarde’ (715,358), ‘JoeyTy’ (679,388), and ‘Thomas Cazayous’ (641,820) feature among the top five stacks.

Sporting a $250K guarantee, the sixth Monster Stack event at the series played out five more flights yesterday, logging in 388 entries to take the total field size to 667 entries.

There are eight more flights left to play out before the finals on June 28 at 4:30 PM (IST).

Only 121 players advanced to Day 2 from the five starting flights that were played yesterday. This, combined with the 81 survivors from Thursday, makes for a group of 202 advancing players for Day 2.

Leading this group of advancing players is Vincent Kwun Ngai ‘Peleus34’ Li (291,486). Close behind the overall chip leader is ‘davidhe’ (252,057), and ‘WhiteDuck’ (235,815).

This was the second APT Online title won by an Indian. On Thursday, India’s ‘potlords420’ had won Event #178 $12.5K GTD PLO.

The mystery user had championed Event#163 $12.5K GTD PLO before, making this their second PLO title victory at this series.
