APT Online Series: India’s ‘potlords420’ Wins Side Event, ‘canbo’ Wins 3rd PLO Title

The Asian Poker Tour (APT) Online Series 2nd edition has been running on Natural8.com since June 14, and it named 16 more winners on Thursday. The 15-day-long series is slated to wrap up on June 28.

So far, 184 winners have been crowned at the series with over $8.02 Million paid out in prize money.

There was finally something to cheer about for Team India, as one of our players with the moniker ‘potlords420’ came out on top in Event #178: $12.5K GTD PLO to win $2.71K. This is the first title victory for Team India in the ongoing series.

‘canbo’ was another player who scripted history after championing the $10K GTD PLO for $2.35K. The mystery user has championed this same event twice before, making them the only one with three title victories at the ongoing series.

One of the headline tourneys at the series, the APT Online Championships Event that boasts a massive $1 Million prize pool guarantee, completed four starting flights on Thursday. At the inaugural APT Online Series, Michael Kim Falcon had won this event for $97.44K. Russian poker pro Artur Martirosian (841,850), bagged the overall chip lead among 66 survivors from the four flights combined.

The sixth Monster Stack event at the series, boasting a $250K prize pool guarantee, played out two of its 15 starting flights on Thursday, logging in 279 entries. Topping the 81 survivors after the two starting flights was Vincent Kwun Ngai ‘Peleus34’ Li.

‘myclass’ took down the $100K GTD Monster Stack for an $18.18K cash prize. The winner eliminated five players on the final table, including ‘Mario.Zwanzleitner’ (runner-up for $14.85K) heads-up.

Topping a 76-entry field, ‘TheGreatDanton’ championed the $1,000 buy-in High Roller for $18.20K to emerge as the biggest winner of the day.

Natural8 Ambassador Pete ‘TurboPete’ Chen, who had won Event #86: High Roller Deep Stack, posted an incredible three final table finishes yesterday, namely, Event #180: High Roller (4th for $8.04K), Event #181: High Roller Turbo (7th for $1.99K), and Event #178: PLO (9th for $296) for a cumulative score of $10,328.16.

The other prominent winners on Thursday were ‘Loris51’ (Event #177: High Roller Deep Stack for $12.23K) and ‘Fiddlesticks‘ (Event #181: High Roller Turbo for $10.52K).

The showstopper $1 Million guaranteed APT Championships Event kicked off yesterday, completing four starting flights. The $800 buy-in event logged in 369 entries in all, with 14 flights yet to go before Day 2 (final day) begins on Sunday, June 28, at 5.30 PM IST.

Only 66 players advanced to Day 2 from the four starting flights combined.

Russian poker pro Artur Martirosian (841,850), holds the overall chip lead after the four starting flights. ‘COL_Moutarde’ (715,358), ‘JoeyTy‘ (679,388), ‘boneshaker’ (549,662), and ‘CharlesZy’ (487,663) rounded out the top five stacks.

The other star attraction was the final day`s play at the two-day-long Event #156: Monster Stack. The $100K GTD tourney logged in 533 entries across five starting flights, to collect a guarantee-smashing $101.27K prize pool.

The final day began with 153 contenders, and over half of them went home empty-handed as only 71 places got paid.

Short-stacked ‘mattti010’ was eliminated on the money bubble.

Outlasting the competition was a ‘myclass,’ who won the title and the $18.18K cash prize that came with it. The winner eliminated five players on the final table, including their heads-up opponent ‘Mario.Zwanzleitner’ (runner-up for $14.85K).
