The curtains finally came down on the 12-day-long 2020 Asian Poker Tour (APT) Online Series on Sunday as the APT Championships event played down to a winner. Topping the guarantee-crushing 753-entry field was an APT veteran, Denmark’s Michael Kim Falcon who playing under the online moniker ‘DirtyDuck’, banked $97.44K in prize money and an APT Guardian trophy to add to his collection of nine live APT trophies!

The 62-event series ran from April 29 to May 10 on GGNetwork’s Natural8.com. Over $ 4.1 million was paid out at the series, making it the most affluent APT festival ever hosted.

The APT held on to its tradition of awarding an APT Player Of the Series (POS) winner for its inaugural online edition. In the end, Michael Kim Falcon won the distinction on the back of his winning performances in the PLO Turbo event, followed by his blistering victory in the APT Championships on the closing day. Falcon received the APT POS Trophy, APT POS Ring, an exclusive watch, and $800 as the cash prize. This was Falcon’s second APT POS title having won the first one at the APT Kickoff stop in Vietnam last year.

Falcon has over $300K in live tournament winnings. He had won the Short Deck event at the WPT Philippines, Manila series earlier in the year for $3.02K. Out of the nine APT live titles, his most significant win dates back to September of 2018, where he had taken down the CoinPoker Highrollers event at the APT Manila series for $24.26K.

Falcon was not the only one to win two titles at the series as several others like ‘putipupu,’ ‘fish3098’, ‘readytoship,’ ‘Dosobyc,’ Dicky’ Floatingworld’ Tsang, and ‘tikkipokka’ managed to accomplish the feat.

‘Louis Butron’ (Event #54: High Rollers for $18.87K), ‘5betbluff.1’ (Event #49: Monster Stack for $16.69K), and ‘WhiteChick’ (Event #52: High Roller Turbo for $11.74K) were the other winners crowned at the series over the closing weekend!

Featured Event: $800 Championships $250K GTD – Day 2

Total Entries – 753

Prize pool – $572,280

Places Paid – 98

Sunday was a big day on Natural8 as the $800 Championships $250K GTD tourney was to play down to the winner. A strong turnout of 753 entries (Flight A – 119, Flight B – 115, Flight C – 165, Flight D – 223, and Flight E – 131) helped collect a prize pool worth $572K, more than two times the posted guarantee.

Day 2 began with 215 contenders (Flight A – 31, Flight B – 32, Flight C – 43, Flight D – 59, and Flight E – 50), and over half of them fell out empty-handed as only 98 places got paid. Canada’s ‘HannibalBarca’ was the unlucky money bubble.

After four hours and half hours of intense tournament action, Denmark’s Michael Kim Falcon playing under the online moniker ‘DirtyDuck’ was crowned the winner and banked the biggest prize of the series worth $97.44K. The APT regular, Falcon, also won an APT Guardian Trophy to add to his collection of nine live APT trophies.

Falcon entered the final table as the chip leader with a stack of 12,267,687, more than 25% of the total chip in play. He eliminated four players on his way to the heads-up match.

Falcon was a firm favorite at the start of the heads-up, holding just under a 3:1 chip advantage over ‘Loris51’, and he pulled ahead to take over an 8:1 lead. Loris51 recovered somewhat, but the chip disadvantage was just too much for him to make a real recovery.

The final hand of the tourney Falcon’s beat out ‘Loris51’s with the board completing a nut flush for the former.
