Among the prominent tournament brands in Asia, the Asian Poker Tour (APT) is presently hosting its first-ever online series named the APT 2020 Online Series (April 29 – May 10). The APT has partnered with Natural8.com, a popular Asia-facing online operator on the GGNetwork, for the series that promises a massive $1.54 Million in prize pool guarantees across 62 events.
The much-awaited inaugural APT Online Series kicked-off yesterday and crowned five winners out of the six tourneys on the opening days schedule.
The series-opener $300 buy-in Monster Stack $30K GTD played two of its three starting flights yesterday. The guarantee was crushed in the first flight itself that logged in 159 entries. The second flight did even better with 146 entries. Jacob Tang holds the overall chip leader among the 107 total survivors after the two starting flights combined.
The biggest draw of the day was without a doubt the $1K Buy-in High Rollers $30K GTD that also happened to be the most expensive buy-in tourney on the schedule. Outlasting a field of 70 entries was none other than the Natural8 Ambassador Michael Soyza, who defeated ‘TT928’ heads-up to stake his claim on the single largest payout of the day worth $18,288.30.
‘TheJourney’ (Event #3: NLHE Freeze-Out for $4,401.91), Dicky ‘Floatingworld’ Tsang (Event #4: Progressive Bounty for $6,231.51), ‘PidrPan’ (Event #5: High Roller Turbo for $11,369.67), and Quang ‘anh961’Ngoc (Event #6: NLHE Turbo for $4,135.77) were the other side event winners on Day 1 of the online series.

The two-day-long Monster Stack was a massive success drawing in impressive numbers in its first two opening flights. The $30K prize pool guarantee was crushed in the first starting flight itself that drew 159 entries. Only 61 players advanced to Day 2, and it was ‘LEN1234980’ who bagged the most massive stack of them all worth 173,003.
Flight B added another 146 entries to the mix, taking the prize pool to almost thrice the posted guarantee. China’s Jacob Tang was named the Flight B chip leader, and his stack of 304,677 has him sitting on top as the overall chip leader.
‘Icemmeth’ (276,976), ‘CheckEtoFold’ (274,867), and ‘twoplus2’ (182,980) round out the top five stacks at the end of the two starting flights.
Flight C got underway at 1:30 PM today, and given the number of registrations, the prize pool has already crossed $100K.

The $1,000 buy-in High Rollers $30K GTD drew 70 contenders to accumulate a prize pool of $66,500.
After five and a half hours of play, Natural8 Ambassador Michael Soyza was the only player left standing in the field. The accomplished pro staged a remarkable comeback heads-up, as he overcame an odds-defying 6:1 chip disadvantage against his fellow Malaysian opponent ‘TT928’ (runner-up for $12,223.19) to ship the first High Roller tourney at the stop. The Malaysian pro boasts of an astronomical $8.3 million in live tournament winnings.
In the final hand of the event, Soyza’s won the flip against his opponents . The flop brought Soyza a pair of kings, getting him the single largest payout of the day worth $18,288.30.

After deciding upon a deal three-way, anonymous user ‘TheJourney’ came out on top of a field of 247 entries to win the $100 buy-in NLHE Freeze-Out $5K GTD for $4,401.91. Hongkong’s ‘LAMJON’ (runner-up for $3,167.79) and Israel’s ‘NoDealBro’ (3rd for $2,973.71) were the other beneficiaries of the deal.
‘TheJourney’ eliminated ‘NoDealBro’ in 3rd place with queen-jack over queen-ten.
‘TheJourney’ caught a lucky break on the last hand of play as his rivered a runner-runner flush on the rundown [ against ‘LAMJON’s to get him the title!

The APT Korea Incheon 2019 Main Event winner Dicky ‘Floatingworld’ Tsang added an online APT title to his name after taking down the $200 buy-in Progressive Bounty $12.5K GTD yesterday. Tsang bested a 170-strong field to win $6,231.51 ($3,158.41 in prize money, and $3,046.10 in bounties). China’s ‘ghostriderxu’ placed runner-up to win $2,859.84 ($2,409.44 in prize money, and $1,167.30 in bounties) in prize money.

Estonia’s ‘PidrPan’ was the last player standing in the $500 buy-in High Roller Turbo and won $11,369.67. The 101 entries more than tripled the $15K GTD with a prize pool collection of $47.97K.
Malaysia`s ‘TallMan’ finished runner-up for $8,610.50.

The final event on Day 1 of the APT Online series, the $50 buy-in NLHE Turbo $10K GTD, attracted 497 hopefuls to culminate more than double the guaranteed prize pool. The top 80 places were awarded a share of the $23,234.75 prize pool kitty.
In the end, Vietnam’s Quang ‘anh961’ Ngoc was declared the champion after he defeated Austria’s ‘MaoZeDonk’ (2nd for $3,031.30) heads-up to secure $4,135.77 in first-place prize money.
