May is already shaping up to be a massive month for online poker, and a large part of that has to be credited to the GGPoker network that is presently hosting the $100 Million guaranteed WSOP Super Circuit Series! While the allure of winning WSOP circuit gold rings has brought in some of the best international players to the site, for players in Asia, the network’s Asia-facing site Natural8.com is running the Asian Poker Tour (APT) 2020 Online Series.
The action is well underway, and we have already reached the biggest draw of the series, the three-day-long $500 Main Event $200K GTD tourney that played out two starting flights yesterday. The two flights brought in 463 runners between them, crushing the advertised $200K guarantee into smithereens. Leading the 115 players advancing to Day 2 is the flight A chip leader, China’s ‘beibei’ (364,216), with pwandwan (331,944), and flight B chip leader Number_2 (301,121) close on his coattails.
The other featured event at the series, the $200 Mini Main Event $75K GTD, named Natural 8 Ambassador Pete’ Turbo Pete’ Chen as the winner. Chen was awarded $40,058.92 as the prize and will receive an APT Guardian Trophy to add to his collection.
Pulling ahead on the APT Player of the Series leaderboard was China’s ‘fish3098,’ and Macau’s ‘readytoship’ with both of them having won two titles each, and they presently share the top spot on the points tally.
The $5,000 Super High Rollers $100K GTD was the other headliner tourney that saw Singapore’s ‘PetitFoxx’ come out on top to win $53,383.12.

The action is getting intense as the three-day-long $500 Buy-in Main Event $200K GTD kicked off yesterday, completing two starting flights. The Main Event logged in 454 entries (Flight A – 177, and Flight B – 286) between them, crushing the advertised $200K prize pool guarantee.
With three starting flights still in the queue, there’s a high probability that the tourney will set a new record.
Only 115 players (Flight A – 41, and Flight B – 74) advanced to Day 2 from the two starting flights combined.
The flight A chip leader, China’s ‘beibei’ (364,216), holds the overall chip lead after the two starting flights. ‘pwandwan’ (331,944), flight B chip leader ‘Number_2’ (301,121), ‘Guguji2020’ (287,027), and ‘urawapoy’ (246,098) round out the top five stacks.
Flight C got underway at 1:30 PM today, followed by flight D at 3:30 PM. Flight E begins at 1:30 PM tomorrow, before the Day 2 action kicks-off at 5.30 PM later in the day.
The final table will be streamed in three stations with an hour’s delay to the live-action.
Top 10 Chip Counts After Two Starting Flights

The $200 Mini Main Event $75K GTD registered 1377 entries (Flight A – 207, Flight B – 145, Flight C – 161, Flight D – 175, Flight E – 102, Flight F – 177, Flight G – 261, and Flight H – 149) to frame a prize pool worth $257K, more than three times the $75K guarantee.
Day 2 began with 426 hopefuls (Flight A – 61, Flight B – 48, Flight C – 48, Flight D – 50, Flight E – 31, Flight F – 44, Flight G – 82, and Flight H – 62), and it was a long grind to the money as only 188 places were to get paid.
After four hours of tournament action on Day 2, Taiwanese pro and Natural8 Ambassador Pete Chen playing under the online moniker ‘Turbo Pete’ became the first featured event champion at the inaugural APT Online Series. For his remarkable achievement, Chen was awarded a $40.05K cash prize, the largest first-place prize given away at the series so far. Chen will also receive an APT Guardian Trophy to add to his collection.
Chen’s heads-up opponent was Hong Kong’s Lester’ mon$terDad’ Edoc, who entered the finale as the chip leader. The chip lead went back and forth for a while before Pete’ Turbo Pete’ Chen widened the gap after a failed bluff attempt by Lester’ mon$terDad’ Edoc.
The final hand of the tourney got dealt soon after that as Edoc went all-in on the flop holding for an overpair. Chen made the call with , holding a flush draw. The completed the board, getting Chen the flush.

Just like the Mini Main Event, the 2nd edition of the two-day-long Monster Stack turned out to be a massive success as it logged in a guarantee-busting 436 entries (Flight A – 150, Flight B – 117, and Flight C – 169) that generated a prize pool worth $122,298.
Only 167 players (Flight A – 53, Flight B – 43, and Flight C – 63) began Day 2, and 62 places got paid.
China’s ‘fish3098,’ who had previously won Event #12: High Rollers, became the first player at the series to win two titles after defeating Hong Kong’s ‘LongBTC’ (runner-up for $16.08K) heads-up for $21.94K. This victory also catapulted ‘fish3098’ to the top of the ‘Player of the Series’ leaderboard.

Macau’s ‘readytoship’ now holds the distinction of winning back-to-back events at the series and that too on the same day. His blistering run saw him winning Event #18: $100 NLHE $10K GTD for $4.2K and then taking down Event #19: $500 High Roller Turbo $15K GTD for $12.71K.
In addition to the $17K in cash prizes, he also jumped from 38th place to 2nd place on the ‘APT Player of the Series’ leaderboard.
‘readytoship’ outlasted a player field of 129 runners and cut a three-way deal with Canada’s ‘BIG CHI ‘(runner-up for $9.48K) and New Zealand’s ‘Raggaz’ (3rd for $9,222.83) before winning the title.

The Super High Rollers ran a marathon seven hours before crowning a champion. The event counted 25 entries who each ponied up the $5,000 buy-in to help frame a prize pool worth $119K.
In the end, it was Singapore’s ‘PetitFoxx’ who beat out Malaysia’s ‘redrum’ (runner-up for $32.80K) heads-up to win $53.38K in the first-place cash prize.
