Ari ‘BacBillNat9’ Engel (cover image), the poker legend with more WSOP Circuit rings than anyone else on the planet, has just added another piece of WSOP hardware to his collection: his fourth WSOP gold bracelet! And he did it in epic fashion, winning the online bracelet while simultaneously competing in a live tournament.
Engel was grinding away at the $550 Cardplayer Lifestyle H.E.R.O.S. event at PokerStars’ North American Poker Tour (NAPT) at Resorts World Las Vegas when he pulled off this incredible double-duty victory. He was also playing Event #29: $400 NL Hold ’em Turbo at WSOP’s ongoing online bracelet series, proving he can handle the heat on multiple fronts.
The online tournament, which had a $400 buy-in and a turbo format, attracted a massive field of 500 entries and paid out 64 places. Engel, a master of multitasking, navigated the online field with ease, taking it down in just over six hours to claim his second online bracelet (and his fourth overall). And just for good measure, he even cashed the H.E.R.O.S. event, finishing ninth for $1,510.
He even joked about firing six bullets in the event, referencing poker commentator Norman Chad‘s recent rebuy controversy during Maria Konnikova‘s bracelet win.

Engel’s Poker Journey
Engel’s latest achievement adds to his already legendary poker resume. His first bracelet came in 2019 when he took down the $2,500 No-Limit Hold ’em for $427,399. In 2021, he won his second bracelet in the $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship for $317,076. His previous online bracelet came just last year in Event #28: $500 NLH Turbo 6-Max, where he won $38,197. With 18 WSOP Circuit rings to his name, Engel has solidified his reputation as one of poker’s most consistent and skilled players.
The poker community was quick to congratulate Engel, including notable figures like David “ODB” Baker, 2015 WSOP Main Event champion Joe McKeehen, Michael Trivett, Julie Anna Cornelius, and Maria Konnikova. Engel’s success has earned him widespread respect and admiration, both for his skill at the tables and for his friendly, approachable demeanour.
A History of Success at Resorts World
Engel’s recent win at Resorts World adds to his track record at this venue. Last December, he claimed victory in the CardPlayer Lifestyle Mixed Game Festival VI, bagging the $4,858 top prize along with a $5,000 WPT Voyage package. The victory must have been incredibly satisfying for Engel, who had finished runner-up to the legendary John Cernuto in the Mixed Game Festival IV earlier in the year. Engel’s expertise in mixed games and ability to adapt to various poker formats make him a formidable competitor in any setting.
What’s Next for Engel?
Engel continues to push the boundaries of poker with his unyielding drive and tactical skills. With a growing collection of WSOP bracelets and Circuit rings, he is far from finished. Known for his adaptability and commitment to poker, Engel’s journey is one that the poker world will continue to watch closely. His next challenge? Perhaps another mixed-game tournament or a shot at his fifth WSOP bracelet. Either way, Engel’s career serves as an inspiration to poker enthusiasts and players worldwide.
