The fifth event at the ongoing Baazi Poker Tour (BPT), the ₹25K MegaStack ₹50 Lakhs GTD got underway along the sidelines of the Main Event on Tuesday. Though the event got off to a slow start, the action picked up pace fast as players kept falling out of the Main Event only to jump in to play the MegaStack.

By the time registrations closed at the start of Level 13, a total of 223 entry slips had been sold. It took 20 levels of play to get this down to the final 15, where leading the charge was a well-known face on the circuit, Devang Yadav. While Yadav is mostly an online player, he has two recorded live scores to his name. Last year in October, Yadav had made an 11th place finish in the BPT ₹50K Main Event. Already assured at least ₹76,000, Yadav will be entering Day 2 with a stack of 907,000. Sanchit Pande (762,000) is a distant second in chips behind Yadav, with Arjun Pasricha (595,000) rounding out the top three stacks of the day.

PokerGuru Ambassador Vishal Bajaj (567,000), Vivek Rughani (503,000), Kavish Kukreja (368,000), Haider Madraswala (351,000), Sahil Mahboobani (245,000), Apoorva Goel (225,000), Raghav Bansal (194,000), PokerGuru Ambassador Vivek Singh (151,000) are some of the notables who bagged for Day 2.

The event has comfortably surpassed its advertised guarantee with a prize pool collection of ₹52.40 Lakhs!

There’s a juicy ₹12.65 Lakhs up top awaiting the winner and the dynamics of the game could change fast, with each of these 15 runners making a bid for the title.

Earlier, the money bubble burst in Level 18 after Manish Lakhotia was eliminated by Harsh Bubna in 25th place.

With the remaining 24 players, all assured at least ₹50,300, some of the notable ITM finishers were, Alok Birewar (16th for ₹64,500), PokerGuru Ambassador Naresh Veeravalli (17th for ₹64,500), Vaibhav Khurana (18th for ₹64,500), Jyoti Ranjan Nayak (19th for ₹56,600), Sriharsha Doddapaneni (21st for ₹56,600), Eka Vedantham (22nd for ₹50,300), Abhishek Rathod (23rd for ₹50,300) and Santosh Suvarna (24th for ₹50,300).

Day 2 begins at 4 PM on Tuesday with the play starting at Level 21 with the opening blinds at 8,000/16,000.
